who is on new start / youth allowance?

this is an up date for those who are.
the $900 you expect to see you wont if you have been on there for a little while. i went in today and asked the question and i was told i wont see it due to being on new start due to losing my job a few weeks back.
but she wasnt 100% sure.

im just wondering has anyone else asked the question to see if they will get the $900 bonus if there on new start?

that kind of sucks, especially for the people on there that really are seeking jobs, that $900 could buy a new business suit or a fresh pair of overalls for job interviews and or your first day at a new job.

although I have no sympathy for those who have been on it for years and years simply because they have found a way to get free money and avoid work, and on the other hand I DO have sympathy for those who have been on it for a long long time if there is some legitimate reason.

It's like the $50 being deducted from the low income earners to make up for the extra bits and pieces that Rudd had to negotiate, why not take the $50 from the people earning over $80k a year

Going by What the ATO told us you are eligible for the $900 as long as you logde a tax return for 07-08 and under $80k ,newstart doesnt matter
but better still call 1300 686 636 and check with the ATO and let them know you want it paid into your bank acount in the next 2 days

ive been on it for 4 weeks now, and i hope i get it cause i need some new tools for work!
like you said for the bums that collect it for free money shouldnt get it!

i had my tax return paid into my account last year. so they have my daeails.
im just confused cause iv been on it 4 weeks other than that iv worked every day for the last 8 years and there saying im not going to get it.???
