How much are these fines?

Hey Guys

Got pulled over tonight for driving with highbeams on and turning right at a no right turn,

Does anybody know the fine amounts/demerits for this?

Highbeams i only had on because some dropkick had tape or something across the road and i forgot to turn them off after looking at it, go around corner BAM cop car And the right turn was my own fault so no Bs please ;p

Demrit Points:
Fail to dip headlights = 1
Turn or stop without signalling = 2

If the cop was down on his luck he'll replace the 2 point with this one:
Disobey traffic lights, signs or police directing traffic = 3

So either 3 or 4 demerits lost. Thats based on Victorian rules. If your in NSW, they'll be the same, however their ones are worded a little differently.

As for prices monetary wise, i couldn't comment! But as to why you weren't handed an infringment on the spot is odd. They SHOULD have done it that way!

Usually if cops don't issue fines on the spot you won't get them.

2 points and 119 bucks for the turn :\

Hmm.. i got done for doing an illigal U-turn and that was only $116 and no points taken off, i thought it would have been the same.. hmm ah well, that sucks! but at least its only three points

How about, for the benefit of other road users "dont do illegal stuff" ...., then you can devote more of your attention to actually driving than looking for police cars.

i got done for an incorrect left turn, the cop pinged me $79 fine and 2 pts, gave me the notice etc.. i paid the fine... didnt receive a letter saying that i had X amount of pts left,
when i rang vic roads one day for a different matter i asked the guy on the phone abt the pts, he said there was no record of me geting a ticket for the in correct left turn, he told me that Mr policeman must not have put his paperwork thru... so i lost $79, but kept my 2pts.

I was certain that the highbeams had a higher point deduction. but as u have shown, it doesnt.

Other states check with your road authority. I had a big chart comparing the different states and offences, but i can't find them anymore

Cracker, new signs there is officers judgement where they're usually ok with it for a certain grace period. And as for the time ones, some cops dont care at all!

yeah ofcourse, because i do illegal stuff when cars are around?
and im lookign around for other motorist all day when i drive so its hardly a destraction?

certainly not unusual for the cops to send it in the mail. i think it's usually a time thing, if they are itching to get somewhere they do the paperwork later and send it out. happens often.

True story my brother drove into town one day as a 100 zone as it had been all his life, then got busted on his way home as an 80 zone (basically half an hour after the signs were up) lol he's been pissed off about that ever since and "disliked the police force" since that day as it's the only speeding fine he's ever had
