can anyone recommend a place in vic that can train my dog for me?
id like him to be trained in guard, attack and food refusal
theres a place that seems really good but its in sydney.
im willing to spend about 1500 to get what i want
thanks
I could be totally wrong... but don't you need some sort of license or special training to handle a dog that is trained to attack?
it will depend on the breed of dog you have, you cant "attack train a sausage dog"
i have weimaraners, they are a "gun dog",they go to a gun dog school
cheers
not exactly troy theonly 2 laws about having an attack trained dog are:
1. it must be done by a licensed trained and
2. you must have appropriate signs around your property and have it properly secured in your yard
so does anyone know of any places in vic?
all the ones ive found so far are in nsw
Not sure if this will help... but this is like a list of training schools...
Dog trainers, obedience classes, dog training, puppy training preschools
We trained our Rotti to be a intimidate and attack on command... food refusal... we gave up on that idea after a while.
This thing inhaled everything and anything...
His guarding skills were "interesting" though... we returned home once... found the dog outside (He'd jumped through a glass window) and he was chewing on a black jacket sleeve...
If you want to train your dog make sure your with the dog, don't send him away to Sydney you need to be with him when they do the training as you need to be trained as well.
I use to train dobermans and rotti's don't do it these days but have herd a lot of people send there dog to placed like this http://www.guarddogtraining.com.au/index.htm.
I'm not sure if you have had a guard dog before but Ive seen people get attacked by there own dog when they get them back.
Or try these guys http://www.vonhellas.com/training.html
If you need any advise send pm
Cheers
I think KCCC Park do it, they are on the western port highway/ dandy hastings road, in between Ballart\o and Hall road i think. (or maybe Hall and Thompsons road)
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
What sort of dog is it your training?
Remember this, training a dog in this way requires signs. These signs admit you to having a dangerous dog, if an intruder breaks in and is attacked you will be sued by the criminal. Think its rubbish? It cost my parents 40k in legal fee's to fight the charge when a prowler was bitten by our Schutzund trained German Shepherds. For the record, my father is a qualified Schutzhund trainer.

oh my mistake.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
minux, its a mastiff x amstaff and he will be chained up in the back yard during the day so he cant bite or get out but will be inside nights with my mother which is what i want.
i doubt anyone in their right miind would still enter the house when they see the dog going off his head
When fitting signs outside your house, have a sign saying "dog on premises"
If you have a sign " beware of dog" you are stating that your dog is viscous and thats when you can end up in court. Also a man can not set a dog onto a person on your own property but funny enough a woman can
So long as the gas and electrical guys can enter your property without the dog threatening them you are safe
I've heard something similar with signs.. you put 'Be Aware Of Dog' instead of 'Beware Of Dog'
ive already got a couple of dog on premises signs/stickers.
ill have a look at those links tonight when i get home an dshoot u a pm if i have to
thanks
