G'day ,
I was at Commwreck today to pick up an engine cover .
The shop was really busy with 5/6 customers all waiting for service .
The lady at the counter was the only one serving and also had to answer all the phone enquires coming through which were non stop .
During this process - four young Aussie blokes had removed a control unit from a wreck in the driveway worth $250 and then just sped away from the scene without paying .
IE :- Theft in broad daylight !
The lady at the counter was very upset ,
Not a good experience to say the least .
The young Aussies were all around 17 to 20 years old .
Hope they get some 'justice' results in the future .

i've dealt with them over ebay, even in an anonymous setting like that they were top notch to deal with.
hope they get it sorted quick

It made me laugh when about 6 guys who were working all ran out to try and catch the booze stealing scumbag.
Everytime I walk into a supermarket all I hear is security to area whatever. Gives me a complex
LOL, that one is the fake call, to deter people. When i worked there it was policy to say it all the time, usually hourly. Although you'd just say 'security to section 7', there was actually a section 7.
On top of that, it was woolies policy to not approach thieves, only managers could, but those calls are for staff to 'watch' them stealing, for further proof that they did it.

I've always wondered if hat was the case, but after seeing staff member actually call them over, I started to feel targeted lol, but I guess it would deter thieves, except thieves are probably the ones that know its automatted lol.
Most of the theives that came into my store didn't look like they had worked a day in their life, rather claiming abstudy til their 45.
Suggest a group of highschool kids walk in the store, the manager would usually do another call, to try and scare them....rarely worked tho.

Thats pretty sus, at a supermarket i used to work at we had 7 registers, so register 8 was the call for everrrrrryone to get to the front (to drag the junkies out the back)
Eventually got to the point that some of them would hear me call a register 8 and run back to the fridge and put the scotch/burbon back on the shelf.... dodgy bastards....
And the shit i have heard about alot of wreckers, ALOT of the cars are not legit therebut like i said, what i heard so dont know how true it is

Yeah during my training we got heaps of stories, espically about some of the scummy towns here in Vic, the lady who was training me was almost stabbed with a syringe in Springvale.
Anyway back on topic, youd be surprised how much is stolen from car wreckers. I have heard countless stories of people who have walked into wreckers wearing cargo pants and filling their pockets with injectors and reselling them.
In the end I spose its because of these people that wreckers prices arent exactly reflective of their "quality items".
Dont think ive ever seen someone blatantly just holding a part and walking out though, usually there is some attempt at being clever and hiding it haha.
How low would you have to be to steal from the wreckers.
Imagine as they took off they smashed into another car, that would of been gold.
On the topic of woolworths/safeway, at our safety team meeting we were instructed to not chase them or try to stop them because they've been known to pull knives etc., I had a pretty lengthy post typed up but realize I shouldn't post it lol
