It may not get to you until May 16th![]()

Apparently it will take days, if not weeks to roll the payments out, so be patient!
I don't know if I'll get it or not (not dense enough to spend something I don't have - I don't even have a credit card lol), if I do get it I'll probably end up stimulating another countries economy or save it, screw what the government want us to do with it (only on Australian products and services) - if they had wanted the money to go to Australian owned companies they should have given it to them, not the people...
On topic I love how there's so many TV commercials for Chinese products with puns suggesting people spend their stimulating package purchasing them.
haha, you get given money by your government, god damn that sounds like a good country, we just had a tax and ACC increase over here, so more money out of our pocket, maybe were not doing as bad as other countries?
havnt decided wether mine will go towards an exhaust or stereo yet....or the mountain of debt i have![]()
Remember they did have to put the whole thing on hold while the high court made the decision.
You may find that the quickest payments will go to those who lodged their tax return themselves on time last year, not through a tax agent, and provided bank account details.
Its only $900.If you have to wait at the mail box for it you are out of your depth.
Payments will probably start with last names begining with AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Would suck to be a Zatowski![]()

Just a quick question...
My gf is a full time student adn she also works part time.
Though she doesn't get aus study or any of that crap from centrelink.
Does that mean she misses out on the extra $950 for students because she isn't aready mooching of tax payers?
not sure on that Jester.
But ato has stated its randomly done. people who got in the bank accounts last yr, will see it first (randomyl though) and tax office ones will be getting mailed out as of wednesday.

dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
i don't know jester.. its seriously confusing, but my gf does mooch of the govt, plus being a full time student and working part time.. she already has her 950, so if ur gf hasn't got it yet, then i highly doubt she'll get it.. i'm not sure if i even get the $900.. stupid not being 18 before june 30th lol.. even though i do have employment income (have had an income since i was 14 n 9 months :P).. anyone know if i get it?
Looks like she doesn't get it... the ONLY handout from the ATO is the one for tax payers.
The student one ($950) seems to only be for students who get payments from centrelink already.
Which is bollox in my eyes... If students are getting it then all students should get it... not just the ones who get centrelink payments... it seems the government is rewarding people for taking money by giving them more money...
Ah well... thanks for the info boys
u been to the ATO website?
"Persons aged under 18
If you were under 18 years of age at 30 June 2008, you are eligible for the tax bonus payment if you were either an excepted person or received excepted assessable income and meet all the other eligibility criteria." - ATO Website
u try n decrypt what the hell excepted person and excepted assessable income is..
How hard is it to understand?
Are all minors covered by the special rules?
No. Several categories of minors are excluded from the special rules. These minors are called excepted persons.
A minor is an excepted person if on 30 June 2008:
Ordinary rates of tax apply to all the income of an excepted person. So if any of these apply, you get the payment...

- not intending to study full-time in 2008-09.
- they were entitled to a disability support pension or rehabilitation allowance, or someone was entitled to a carer allowance to care for them
- they were permanently blind
- they were disabled and were likely to suffer from that disability permanently or for an extended period
- they were entitled to a double orphan pension and received little or no financial support from relatives, or
