interested to hear from people if their next purchase will be another holden or if they will buy one later on in the future.
despite my current impulse buy (first ford ever amugst the 10 holdens ive had in the past 4 years) my vote is yes i will buy another holden but only of it is new and not a poverty pack.
so when funds permit really.
sick of paying a premium for other people's used toilet paper
No, i wont. I wouldn't have bought my current car except it was offered to at a good price by a family member. Still like Holdens but after owning 4 now and driving countless others I really want a change.
i would like to upgrade to a VT or VY berlina wagon next and get a VSII calais as a weekender. definately going to stick with holden for a while!
I will be, the long term plan is to sell the wife's Barina and for me to finally to get my SS ute.
nope, im crossing to the dark side, ba xr6![]()
although im happy with my car and i will be keeping for a while, it really depends on my situation in the future, if i need a family car i will definately look at the dark side as i feel there have a better ride ( current models) thats if i was looking for a 6, however if i go for a 4wd,no way would i go holden! if i look for another V8, holden is the only way to go.
i will always go holdenss, but really depends on my situation in time.
although i really do like some of the new subaru liberties n ive always wanted a nice old 323i bmw
deffently, owned 2, and would still have one if i wasnt goin overseas next month, but as soon as i get back ill be buying a cbr1000rr and hopefully some sort of 2 door holden
Only if it were a luxury model (Calais or higher) and VS or newer (don't want to go backwards)
yep... lookin at a grange or r8 clubby
Yep sure will
We were Holden mad once, but now the only Holdens we have are the VH race car (cheap to find bits for and easy to work on), my VK project (which I'd sell if someone offered me a half decent price), and 2 rolling shells (VB, VH) waiting to go. Our dailys are a Rio, Pajero and Patrol. I'll be looking for another 4WD soon (or buy Mum's Pajero), and it won't be a Holden, prolly a Patrol, Pajero or Hilux...something I can drive around town in, and go off road when ever I feel like it.

Nope the utes are not made for work purposes at all. Quite shocking for it actually
Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise
hehe next car i get wont be a ****en commodore thats for sure
Yup, the V8's are good bang for buck imo, wel until I win the lotto that is!
hopefully try a v8 down the track, but otherwise not.. got a few other brands to try out.
I'll stick with holden for my cars. I will be trading the rodeo in the next 18 months hopefully for a new toyota prado.
next car will be a v8 ve wagon or a ve hsv touring wagon
troy if you look for a rodeo, particularly a RA with a 6, dont get one with a 6VE1 3.5L motor, they are total garbage, burns heaps of oil, uses heaps of fuel etc,
find one with an alloytec, or if you stretch for it, a RA my08 with the 4JJTC-HI 3.0L common rail diesel, they go like the clappers and exceptional in fuel economy, we have a 2wd low rider dual cab that is doing 8.1L/100km and isnt driven that economically at all, a single cab does the high 7's apparently

- UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
- OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear.
- HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall.
- TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.
we have this discussion constantly at work.
After working with prestige cars for so long its pretty obvious that you can spend whatever on a Commodore, you can spent 3, 4, 5 times as much hell even the same price as a house on a prestige cars, and at the end of the day the Holden has less wrong with it then the prestige car.
Sure they have their share of issues, but parts are readily available, no waiting minimum of 5 working days for a part to be air freighted from overseas. Aftersales service sucks out loud (holden service) and getting stuff covered under warranty can be a bitch, but theres ways around that
For me personally I will always have the key to a Holden of some description. I'm re-building the HJ which will stay with me for quite some time, even when the time comes to sell the Acclaim and update the daily driver.
So the bottom line, yes, yes I would. wouldnt mind a new-ish ute (VY SS comes to mind) but also wouldnt mind a Clubsport or Caprice, always loved the Clubsports and Caprice![]()
don't know if i will buy another holden.
my vz is already falling apart
things like plastic bits falling off and various other noises that don't seem normal.
the other day i noticed a patch of paint on the side about 5 cm by 3 cm that is literaly bubbled up and ready to peel off and several other smaller areas areas where the paint is also starting to bubble
If holden ever make something similar to the liberty or the impreza ie 4cyl turbo then YES i will be buying another, but untill they can start delivering performance without the need for 6.2 Litres i doubt it. The next car you'll see me in is a late model lancer evo or impreza.
I've only ever owned two cars in my life. Got my first car in '98. Was a 95 VS Exec. Sold it in 2005 with 384,000km's on the clock. All original but needed a new diff. I Replaced that with the '96 VSII Calais (L67). Great car but needs a few jobs done on it. I try to look after my cars so they last.
The beauty of the Commodore, particularly the Ecotec motors, is they are so easy to work on, parts are available everywhere and not that expensive. Money is always tight so the commodore makes a great family car. But, having said that, if money was no issue and I was in the market for a new car I would strongly consider a Toyota Aurion Sportivo (I hear you all laughing), or the TRD Aurion which was the 240kw supercharged version.
So long story short. If I was buying another second hand car I would buy a commie. If I was buying brand new I would go elsewhere.
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
