I'm going for my P's in July and I'm looking at what the test consists of. Don't spose anyone has a marking criteria from a failed test maybe? Have been reading that the parking manoeuvres don't count for much and focus should be mainly on the driving side of things and head-checks, etc. I'm pretty confident with my driving but as the date gets closer I'm slowly starting to freak out a bit.
Am going for test on my b'day and am halfway expecting a fail because I've heard that they fail your first go quite often, regardless of your driving ability. What should I practice most to give the instructor a harder job to fail me?

make sure you stop COMPLETELY before the stop line - that's where they got me
peice of piss mate i passed my nsw p's 1st go, its a myth they fail males the 1st time... along with the OP, dont clip the edge of a rounda-bout thats classed as a fail too... and yeah looking over your shoulder is a big one especially on a hill start, you will be fine mate dont stress, they will talk to you to see if you get distracted by them... your allowed to talk but make sure your main focus is your driving

Thanks guys. Will be going to see some driving instructors soon to get some lessons on how to pass the test. Lets hope it's as easy as people say it is.

Best advice I could give you would be took book in early! I thought I would be safe booking 2 weeks before, but unfortunately I had to wait an extra month, same story after I failed, I had to wait another 4 weeks.
Also, I know it doesn't really make sense, but I failed because I "did not check my blindspot over my left shoulder whilst exiting a round about".
woh, that early? Can I book twice in case I fail my first attempt?

Don't think so, becuase you have to pay online or on the phone when you make your booking.
i passed mine 1st go, easy az
Yeah man passed my NSW P's test like a month ago, first time on my Bday. Just get your instructor to take you over the courses before you go one the test, I only had one lesson just to learn the courses and I was sweet.
Even though it seems stupid, whenever you move like 1m in the left or right make sure you head check the required direction, for example if your turning left into a street, HEAD CHECK over your left shoulder!!
Good luck
Thanks for the tips guys. Will be practising like crazy for the next few months.

tbh i was more nevous with the l trent guy than the rta tester, probly because the l trent guy was a dick and i hated him, the rta tester was relaxed and just chatted, he kept going on about how much traffic there was cause we spent 10 mins waiting at a damn t junction it was soo busy
