I am getting SOOOOOOOOO sick of the freakin SMS ads on the tele lately.... love match, baby names, IDIOTIC screen savers and bloody low battery things, to name but a few.... the latest idiotic and mind numbing brain dead things on the TV is that LULU mobile crap!! Besides paying 5 bux just to subscribe, then paying $10 per week for the useless crap... who is stupid enough to subscribe to this garbage!!! they had that stupid LuLu thing on the tele a little while ago... i almost threw a chair at it!!

im the same, probably why i havn't watched tv in 8months...exceptions for footy night of coursebut other than that im over all the bullshit ads they play on tv and foxtel...except at least with tv your not watching the same episode of a show 3 times a day

one of my mates subscribed another to heap of these, takes $40 off his cap each month and costs him $5 every time his tried to make it stop, by texting "Stop" to that number, its funny for us, shit house for him

They make a fortune because people pay the exorbitant prices believing they's justified, or are tricked into subscribing by thinking they're in for a one off ringtone or application; I think I've read that it's a $500 million industry... no wonder.
Even the Crazy Frog started off without credit to the person who made the effect.

first of all.. I HATE them with a passion, secondly, I seriously doubt that anyone would be stupid enough to msg them... some of them in the fine print say that each text costs $5 with a minimum 2 texts per week.. thats at least $40 a month!!

you text your name, your parters name, and you get a message back telling you what sex baby you will have and what you're gunna name it.

Back when I was working in a telstra shop we used to have poeple come in all the time very angry because they were being charged x amount per month on their bill or losing all their pre paid credit as soon as they put it on and didn't know why.
Half of them would blow up in store and demand refunds from telstra....etc.
Alot of times it was parents who's teenagers borrowed the phone to download a one off ringtone and got them subscribed.

they're a total scam, most of them are pretty shady like the ones you 'subscribe' to by sms-ing a competition then they charge you for the weekly sms's, it's obvious and you'd have to be pretty slow in the head to enter, but it doesn't make it less of a scam.
