Well just was up on the Golad Coast and the wife and I decied we should move up there, somewhere.
We didnt really get a chance to have a good look around but will drive back up and have a look and speak to a few real estates soon. Really just trying to get a list of places to visit.
We saw from Coolongatta up to Paradise Point, liked almost all of it (Not in sufers itself to live). With research on the net it looks like we could be happy up to Bunderberg.
Dont want inland to far, 40min or so drive from the coast would be ok still. But prefer to be 10min from the beach. We got te 3month od daughter and hope to have another bubs soon, so nice place for kids to grow up. Only other need is High Speed Interent. Wife runs a online business, work isnt a problem. I can adapt to almost anything if I need to work.
So any pointers on a few places to go look at when we drive up to look around.
Will rent first and want to keep it under $450p/week for a house.
Sorry if its too broad a question as theres probly a heap of nice plaes. Just need A few names to go look at and double check it looks good from the outside lol.
Thanks in advance!
Im probly wrong so dont listen to me
anywhere on the sunshine coast, mooloolah, palmwoods, caloundra, maroochydore, glasshouse mountains, noosa (bit expensive i think though) anyway they are all great places to live

places to avoid....Logan, Nerang, Inala, Ipswich, deception bay
sorry to offend anyone there but even though they have good areas many are higher crime rates than average.
I would definately go sunny coast, parents are at Moloolah Valley and love it...20 mins to Caloundra beaches and quiet, bushy area, etc
Seriously if you want more info PM me as I work in an industry that may be of assistance!
LOL

nundah is a nice place close to the city and work is pretty much all around. rent iswithin what you have posted my husband and i have live here for three years.
I live on the westside of Brisbane. Been here for over 2 years so far.
The westside is generally upper market, quiet, nice and leafy. I'm talking about the Brookfield, Pullenvale, Kenmore, Karana Downs general area. The only problem is if you want a nice house you will be out of pocket by around $600 - 800k, and public transport absolutely sucks.
I think the beaches in the Brissy areas are overrated compared to Sydney/Wollongong beaches. The westside is about 40 minutes to the beach anyway depending on how far west you want to go. Karana Downs, which is the most western point is only 25km from the cbd anyway.
have you been past bundaburg,,mackay is a nice spot, ful of commodores and good people with its own country style drag strip and summer for 9 months of the year......
i vote sunshine coast too mate lived there for 15 odd years and its an awesome place. It's getting fairly built up in the last 10 yearsbut still plenty of nice places. just like the gold coast really just not as many tall buildings

Spent all day yesterday looking around the gold coast. We liked a few areas (As much as you can tell from just passing through), Ashmore, Higland Park, Parts of Nerang and Robina (wife loved the shops lol).
Today we will head up to the sunshone coast. Will check out west a little later.
Works no darams, we have a online business so just need some form of broadband.
Just need to learn the qld way of driving lol. All about U turns at lights![]()

Found it more relaxing driving on the Gold Coast than here in Adelaide, heaps busier but i didnt get cut off or tail gated at all while i was there which i didnt expect lol.
Disapointed that i didnt get to see any modded Commys driving around, seen about 50 VE series HSV's & every other car was either a merc or bimmer with the odd Ferrari & lambo thrown in.
Wild yellow Ferrari with CARP plates was nice also black Lambo with GREGS was wild also.

Hervey Bay is a great small town, 2 hours north of Sunny Coast, and 1 hour south of Bundy
Nice and small, enough to do, great to raise kids etc.
Perfect weather, we don't get flooded, we dont get cyclones (Not in 30 years +)
Goldy is nice, but its over developed and just massive, not to mention the crime and amount of people there
Hervey Bay is great really, more and more people are moving here, plus realestate is good at the moment
i live near logan..beenleigh..which is close to eagleby which is a place to stay away from for crime..and its not that bad..its actually better then the city in my eyes..and more quite haha
Cabarita Beach, or anywhere near it, is a gorgeous place to live. Just south of the NSW border - the beaches are long and straight like the Gold Coast, but nobody ever goes there.
I used to drive there all the time from Brisbane. Well worth the day trip.

My uncle sold his small house in Melbourne bought a few acres and house just outside Bunderberg and had money left over, only problem was I told him to buy a house with large mango trees so I can visit him when they are ripe but the house he got has none :P
pretty funny actualy,
ive lived in eagleby most of my life now, most of the people i know are on 100k plus a year jobs with multiple homes in the area. ive never had anything stolen, never seen anyone bashed, the list goes on and on and on. so to those who are baging out eagleby as a bad area, you can be quiet now. cause you just made yourself look like idiots.
when you refer to logan your refering to a region, logan is huge, it's like any suburb, you leave your car outside on the road unlocked with something nice inside, it will be pinched, you will get that with any surburb. brisbane is a huge area champ, im quite fond of wolfdine, it's nice scrub type area, sub rainforest setup. at the base of mt tambarine, with heaps of nice open land. but it's acerage, so expect to pay a fortune.
depends on what you have a feel for, and where you want to live, move up here, find a rental house, and drive around the place, find a nice surbur b, and do it that way.
