supercharged 1991 vq statesman white - eBay, Passenger Vehicles, Cars, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 27-Apr-09 16:30:20 AEST)
Fristly, new p platers can't have 8 or more cylinders. So that rules them out, plus they can't have superchargers or turbochargers too.
Because your from vic most people wanting to bid will actually be from Victoria. Secondly, the olde style P platers are on power to weight ratio, the VN V8's were fine, however with a supercharger and worked if it ever got dynod buyers are probably thinking it's over power to weight ratio.
So that leaves people off their P's to buy this, in which case i can't relaly help you there, but many of them are probably looking to settle down and settle house repayments and what not.
Also, something that might help you is to say when the Supercharger was installed. A supercharger if it was installed shortly after it was purchased (meaning like 250,000km/s is probably very warn out).
I dunno, just some things i've picked up.
pictures sell a car for me. you should really get some good high res pictures up. also pics of the interior wouldn't hurt either. i don't think ebay is the best for getting the price you want. people want to think for a long time before they buy something, 1 week just isn't enough. i saw a 355 stroker vp wagon go for about $3800 once. seller must have vomited when he saw the sale price (no reserve).
looks like a nice car though, good luck with it. try uniquecarsales, and this forum!
VQ's are getting long in the tooth and a supercharger is nothing special these days. (often implies it's been driven hard).
I'd say your reserve is probably set a bit high. But I've found with Ebay you get most of the bids at the very end of the auction.
Good luck.![]()
White 05 V6 VZ Executive - Thrashed Ex Telstra car
and 3 Dangerous non ABS VN's
Few things wrong with the add,
1.Poor quality photos
2.P plates
3.Stockies on the back
4.Engine bay a mess with no top covers and shroud missing.
5.No air con.(who wants a luxury car with no air)
no cruise either! the most important feature a car car have!
also, where's the overflow and washer bottle?
I agree, pictures of the interior, boot....everything we'd want to see if we were going to buy it, and why do people think that using large font will help?![]()
You really need to include more than just the 12 photos that ebay allows you, use photobucket to host them, you can put as many as you like into the html section of the ebay page and it wont cost you any extra.
Use a smaller font, use paragraphs, sentences and punctuation and leave a line between each to emphasise the features. Perhaps separate ones for engine, body etc. I gave up at about line three trying to read it,
This is my opinion, and my opinion only and may not reflect properly on the person who wrote the ad.... Use the best english you can muster in the ad, not with phone txt abbreviations etc, make the buyer feel like they are dealing with someone who is mature(and by association, reputable), not someone who is fresh out of kinder.
Perhaps you think that only 18 year olds will want you car(perhaps that is true) and you are speaking on their level, however, its a guaranteed turn off for older buyers(you cant always predict who is going to buy) and really I dont think any 18 year old is going to be put off by an add that doesnt have txt speeeeek!
There is no indication about whether you are selling with a rwc, assume that you are not, the finger cutter fan without the shroud would be an obvious fail point. It doesnt cost you extra on ebay to give us worthwhile info, tell us about the tyres etc( in a separate paragraph) how much tread, brand(even pictures) etc....will give the buyer some idea about where the money has been spent on the car
Seems a lot of money for a 18 year old car without a rwc and given the poor add I'd be giving it a wide berth.
Ive just sold a couple of cars on ebay doing all I recommend ^ and did get the price I was after.

Yep - not a good time to sell a car.... That said..... Your car looks the good but your add sucks big chunky ones. Very difficult to read and there is nothing, zilch, nada to give me any reason to persevere reading the huge bomb of text that hit me when I open the add.

yep, just looking at the pictures and seeing the stockies on the back, made me think, this car has been used as "hoon" car.. so that would be a main reason for why it isn't selling.
ok guys so im guna admit it the add is thrown together quiet poorly it didnt bother me until getting some feed back thanks for that il edit my add tomorow as for the engine pics they are taken just after fitting so yeah its a bit messy it does have a shroud and engine covers on now the charger has just been rebuilt 4 months ago so it hasnt been thrashed either even tho i am a p plater ive driven it like 10 times since putting it together cause ive had back surgery so now im driving a hyundai getz its alot more comfortable for my back i wana get rid of mine and buy a nice bog stock vt vx vy thanks for the feed back guys il put it to good use edit everything up tomorow so if you get a chanceguys go back check it out tomorow evening and let me no what you think of the new add![]()

Most people are wanting to buy a car with low KM. and something newer than 18 years. Also the fact it's a V8 and the cost of petrol these days.

just some suggestions. are they genuine eleanors? what work has the engine had done? how many psi is the charger putting out? how many kw does the car put out?
also. stockies on the back make it look like it might have had a thrashed life.
yep its never goin to be a good time in selling anymore...ive been selling my calais since january alot of dreamers thats it... ahwell it'll go 1 day... just means i get to hav it just that little bit longer![]()

Good pictures usually doubles the price of small items, amazing but true. I've bought things that had blury pictures for really cheap. Then resold them with a better add and made money![]()
Don't know, nor care why you put the stockies on - neither will 99% of those reading the add. All that matters is the perception that the car looks like the type that drops skidz and that will turn a lot of people off it straight away. First impressions count and from there it's a huge up-hill battle to change any that are negative. Don't have them there in the first place.

like the other guys said, updated pics, put the proper wheels on the back, and practice a little punctuation..... make the text a little smaller.... it's all about appearance, not just your vehicle, but the way you present it.
Also, you will NEVER get what you think your vehicle is worth. Modified cars don't get what you put into them.
I sold my Nissan Patrol a couple of years ago now......i spent about 30 grand on it, including an injected V8, 38" tyres, heaps of bar work, modifications galore and it featured in an issue of Australian 4WD Monthly..... i got $12,500 for it in the end.
A guy who lives near me spent about $25,000 on the motor alone on his VQ and he ended up selling the car for $10,000 and it was in show car condition.
Good luck with it, but don't be too dissapointed if you doin't get what you want for it.

- TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.
best advice I can give you, pull the listing down and start again with all the above info at hand.
there's going to be people who might have looked at it first and dismissed it, who will look through the listings and see your car and not even click on the link.
If you re-list it though, with a different photo in the thumbnail, people might have another look...

il let this add run its course im sure it wont sell il then give it a cooling off period get some beter photos taken including interior side views clean motor all 4 wheels on . And yes i no you never get back what you are spent when it comes to cars but im in it mainly for the fun the car is inspected an insured by shannons for 2500 more than my reserve i think that is fair cause its insured for alot less than what ive actualy spent on it cheers guys il post up the new add in a few days or so hopefully i can please a few of you this time
I just sold my wifes vz fairly quick ,but i think anything DONE UP ie a toy will be harder to move due to people holding on to their cash
