    Default Raptor VLC (liquid cooled)

    Hi Tim,

for exsisting customers to upgrade to a raptor VLC do we need to send the charger back to you to retro fit the VLC housing or can it be we do it ourselves?

(good opportunity to promote the VLC with it's own dedicated thread )

Yes the charger needs to be returned and in some cases charger will need to be disassembled and reassembled so the compressor cover to compressor wheel clearance can be optimised. (Ask RCVX the difference a tight compressor clearance can make)

Otherwise the charger comprises a cooling jacket on the compressor housing, a small radiator, a pump and a coolant reservior.

Vehicles currently fitted with VLC, Magna V6, Territory 4.0, Falcon BA XR6, AUDI A4 (guessing on the model)

Supercharger temperature drops by around 40 Celcius (a lot) and allows people to run their charger faster for higher boost pressures with greater charger reliability but importantly the charger dischargers MUCH cooler air than if not cooled.

    Some info on VLC

Ford BA 6cyl automatic, previous best 237rwkw @ 12psi on a back to back run

Ford BA 6cyl Automatic with VLC kit fitted 250.5rwkw @ 9psi on back to back

The gains are just a touch less than intercooling (as originally promised) - pretty awesome

    No, not at all.

The intercooler will be doing the full job, the VLC gets 80% of the way there on its own, but adding it to a cooled system will yield no extra horses

i got the vlc charger but where the cooling housing was situated, the hose fittings kept hitting strut tower when mounted on the bracket. it wasnt test fitted before being sent out.

All VLC charger water outlets are now aligned with the charger intake, this will be the only form in which the VLC will now be manufactured .......... because it works in all situations.

yeah mate i have been pretty busy with my flying and have been even more broke living on austudy so have been trying to not think about doing much to my car lately but i should be finished and earning coin again very soon so it's game on.

mine is still not cooled and i still got the intercooler sitting on my garage floor, I have been watching everyone else intercool theirs and am not sure the gains are worth the hassle, I was thinking if the vlc could cool it enough to run extra boost than i would not encounter the loss of boost people seem to get from intercooling. Just weighing up my options at the moment. Also what is the absolute maximum amount of boost the V can produce as i am thinking instead of stroking i may build a high revving 3.8l which would go better with the centrifugal blower.

high rev would be a plan, add extra 1000rpm with good parts an you would be cranking out some numbers
