well its been a while for an update nothing big has happen

Im getting new bearings in the charger as we speak
Just brought a billet short shifter $300 bargin from a user on here and ebay
still waitingcfor a reply back from ( Not_An_Abba_Fan ) about his Hiflow cats he sells

will get some pictures when the charger turns up

the charger is smooth running thanks tim.

the only problem im have problems with is i washed/degreased the engine bay and must have gottin water some where, where its not meant to be, cause i cant rev over 2500rpm in first and 4000 rpm in second cause it jumps and splaters and almost stalls. not sure what to do here.

mmm that sucks about ur ebay experience,

pull all ur leads off make sure they are dry and pull the plug off that goes into the coil pack and blow it out as well,

Also the big plug that connects into the back of the coil pack mount, remove and blow out contacts with compressed air.

oh also check the air flow meter, make sure its completely dry but be careful of the electrode inside if u blow it out

Good point too, some electrical contact cleaner followed by compressed air will clean it right up

ill give all them ideas a go on the weekend, ive gotta do a oil change at the same time. im also going to relocating the coil packs to the drivers side on the motor so that should be fun as they are rubbing the paint and under lay off the bonnet

yea it is, can some who has fitted one tell me if it is actully shorter then the standard shifter or is it just more tighter in the box?

can't say for certain because you have the getrag model, however the one i have to suit the T5 definitly shortens the throw. the shifter is physically the same size (because you use the original shifter handle on the T5). basically they have re-designed the pivot point/location in the shifter. the throw is much shorter and the gears are also closer together. i'd say about a 50% shorter throw. definitly worth it in my opinion.

well thats good enough for me then, ill be fitting it on the weekend. Now i just have to find a satin silver vy 5 speed gear knob for it. any one got one to sell?

just fitted my calais chrome strip to my boot garnish,it doesnt stand out much on a silver car but i like it
