Inlet manifold gasket was leaking. Also blew my radiator haha.
Good for 100 horse powers right there, make sure to throw some Killa wasps in there while the intake is off![]()
Haha well having no leaks in my manifold could mean more boostdepends how bad it was. Also should I block off my Pcv valve? What are the advantages of that?
I wouldnt do it, have seen people have crack at it but not very successful most of the time
leave as is I say

That'd really SUCK if that came off
If your auto elec minded the alt is a piece of piss, I'm a 18 yo 2 year auto elec and I've done these numerous times, just make shure you keep everything and put it all in line or order it in a way so you know how to put it back together the way it came apart, worst comes to worst pull it apart, and get your local auto elec to re assemble and test itbut honestly it's piss easy, lol if I can do it anyone can
and while it's apart might be worth putting a new reg, bearings and slipp rings in it
might be a bit of work but worth it if u want more life out of the alt seeing as your painting it

Even better![]()
Thanks mate. Yeah ended up polishing the outside while it was altogether. Then that alternator started making horrible noises so I was forced to learn how to take the alternator apart to change the polished cover onto my spare alternator. Found it fairly straight forward apart from the tiny pasting washers/insulators to stop the outside casing from being charged. Replaced them with some cork washers and bingo worked fine!
just read through the whole thread, and can now say im sold on the vr/vs shape now. what a great car.
have you had it on the dyno yet?
Haha thanks mate! Yeah there's a reason I can't bring myself to upgrade! It has been on a dyno but was running a bit lean and had a dead lifter and blown intake manifold gasket. Ran 285rwhp I think. Will be going the clutched pulley soon so we'll see what this thing can really make!
