not bad mate it looks sweet! i would recomend getting an intercooler tho. im glad Tim talked me into getting one
Check out my ride here =>My VX Raptor
say NO to chev badges
WTB - VY Black handbrake cover - Twin 2.25in exhaust to suit vx - vx/vy calais window surround chrome
I laughed at the CAI that is connected to nothing. Its even painted too hahahahha. Other than that, sick as ride.![]()
Thanks guys.
Sorry I took so long to put this thread up tim.
Yeah I know the cai isn't really doing much but I figured it might out a little more air toward the pod. Yeah I regret painting it now haha
mate the cai does help at least the intake is gettin some form of cold air instead of none .. makes a huge differnece
the super6 CIA is doing stuff all. it only works in the standard fashion because of the vacuum created in the air filter box. in the standard setup it suffers badly from heat soak. on VR/VS models there is very minimal airflow across the top of the radiator area due to the design of the front grill area.
box/enclose the pod filter and then fit a decent CAI for good results
looks good though. very tidy setup

yeah i knew it doesn't do much if anything. i just think it looks better than the radiator shroud and fan surround. still wish i had just left it black tho.... might sand it back when i can be arsed
thought i might post a few pics of the progress of my boot install...
hopefully get some carpet and perspex soon. have some led computer fans on order for either side of both amps
thats a very nice ride man i have a 1997 vs same colour and want an ss kit buhh didnt know howd it look now after seeing yours definetly getting the kit lol
hey mate how much did you get the 500 hp walbro for?
easy to install ??
thanks romez. yeah its a great colour and looks great with the ss kit.
trayner. i got the pump off ebay for 140 including postage brand new. it wasn't too hard to install. the hardest part is getting the sender out of the tank. which on a vs sedan with the 59 litre tank is possible to do without taking the tank out. but for doing it for the first time honestly it'd be quicker and less frustrating to just take the tank out.
hey man nice ride, was good meating u at the cleaveland show a few weeks ago to
thanks trippen. it was nice meeting you to. got the new car yet?
Awesome job man, very jealous :P
thanks man.
the car now has 1.95 ratio rockers and slotted rotors
the rockers definately made a difference!
nice car mate, gotta love the good old vs
system in the boots coming along good too, plannin on coverin with carpet or just raw wood? looks good doe
the boot will be carpetted, and clear acrilic over the amps, and 4 led fans one either side of each amp. im going to have the fans pumping in one side and out the other to circulate air over the amps under the floor. should look very cool too
unfortunately my boot still looks as pictured above... will get back around to it eventually haha
Tuff Stuff there mate.
You made the colour marone look sexy and you made a VS look beyond awesome.
Keep it up.
mate this is one mean vs, i love the ss kit and the colour coded engine bay.
the rims suit it to the bone mate.
one of the cleanest vs' on her mate, keep up the good work.
thanks guys have done some more work to the engine bay. not quite finished but i'll post up some pics in a sec
not quite finished but have decided to ditch the engine cover and start polishing and painting bits. so far i have painted the rocker covers black and the alternator support bar red. i want to take the alternator apart and paint the casing black. Does anyone know if this is easy to do? and i want to paint the coilpack red.
intercooling progress is making a start. ordered my reverse plenum the other day. will order my 600x300x76 cooler next week when i get paid.
Awesome, feel the power of being cooled is coming your way then![]()
