    Default Intercooling The raptor.

Righto i asked Tim about intercooling my raptor using his kit, but he's been a bit quiet sooo...

I've started my own kit with a:
    460mm x 300mm x 76mm 3" intercooler
HKS SSQV blow off valve + 3" adapter pipe

Now i'm wondering how many lengths of intercooler piping (plus bends and joiners) i'll be needing, so i'm hoping that someone else has fabricated their own kit and wouldn't mind helping me out?

if your in brisbane i can hellp ypu put,, and your bov i dont know if that kind will be able to be used,, u have to run two valves one either side of the cooler, and one has to be at least a 32mm one with a really soft spring presure of 2.5kg otherwise you will get compressor surge and break the charger.

so both BOV's have to be used? i have the 32mm on as well as one standard one but i was going to diconnect & block off the small one. so that a no no?

I was talking to Raptor Charged VX yesterday, and apparently the second weaker blow off valve is crucial. Turns out these chargers don't like any sort off compressor surge at all!

Sounds like you are getting the right advice, sorry I didn't catch up here with info for you sooner. The second valve is most crucial IF you run the high boost pulley.

Hey tim, is there any drama if you run a BOV on each bend of the pipe coming off the cooler. So like if you look at the cooler, then work your way out where it wraps around to go back into the engine bay. Would this be a drama? Would it cause the boost guage to read wrong for being to far away?

I would recomend two valves on any cooler kit as the pipework gives compressor surge
