Ahhhh maybe. I would need your pulley though.
why do you think the smaller pulley caused your belt issues? yes the blower was turning at a higher RPM but the belt speed would have been the same regardless of blower pulley diameter based on engine rpm.
something else to think about is belt whip. this happens when a belt is unsupported over a fairly long distance, as is the case with the ecotec when fitted with a blower. the portion of the belt between the supercharger and then the AC pump is very long and unsupported. at high rpm the belt can move around a lot, this is worse with sudden changes in engine rpm. the Holden V8's tend to have this issue with throwing V belts
