What is the ideal location for the BOV on the vz cooler piping?
At the moment mine is on the lower bend of the cold pipe that goes around the rad support.
BUT... this is a really crappy spot for it as there is really no room for it there, I was wondering whether it can go high up near the compressor on the hot pipe safely?

you should have two BOVS if its cooled, one should be on the hot side after the chager around 6-10 inches from outlet and the other anywhere you want after the cooler using two will stop compressor surge and elimante damage to the charger

what brand BOV is best performance?

I'm running the standard bosch one on the cool side, and a 32mm HKS SSQV on the hot side just near the outlet of the charger - works well.
