Arnt there people in 11s with the l67 engine with the standard eatons ported ?? I would of thought there would of been a few people going faster . I used to own a VT S pack with all the FIT boltons
The thread is fastest Raptor 6 ......... Bending the rules a lot we have ....
A Mitsubishi Magna 3.5 V6 with a 12.87@ 111mph - Willowbank - Raptor V @ 8-9psi
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
My old SC14 vacuum cleaner blower ran 12.9 @ 105 with 8psi lol.
I didnt mean to go off thread i just thought there would of been some faster times as you would probably make more power with the Raptor than a Eaton M90 and there are people with Eatons now into the 11s with VT's which arnt as light as VR , Vs etc . Is it because of the torque of the line v higher peak power at higher rpm.
There have been Raptor V equipped Holden V6s at 11.2 around 4 years ago
A centrifugal doesnt ever put out the same pressure at 1800rpm as at 6000rpm whereas an Eaton will give constant pressure give or take a bit more or less the same right across the range - that is why the Eaton delivers what it does.
A Raptor V, a Vortech, and all other centrifugal brands deliver their boost in the same fashion - with relatively similar outcomes
In time there will be a Raptor that will deliver a more constant power delivery right across the engine RPM range - the licensing agreements are being put in place now
Thread back on track now - to post you must either have a Raptor on your vehicle, or be talking about a vehicle that has one - in respect of the thread title.

Hey Tim what was the Holden v6 in with a raptor to get 11.2 out of it?
The vehicle was an S13 Silvia
The engine was a 3800 VR engine with a 4.3 stroker kit
Was auto 4 speed from VR Commodore
Was intercooled with around 11psi

Well was bored tonight so went to the test and tune. New pb of 13.17 with still a slow takeoff to try keep traction.
Red
You amaze me, thats great
It is said that with quartermile racing that the results depend on the efficiency of the start - therefore with good rubber and a cracking launch it's fair to say (I believe) that you have a vehicle that can now give you a 12sec pass.
I hopefully have your new stuff by tomorrow!

Time to see if we can put an Ecotec 3.8 V6 VS with a Raptor charger ahead of a Magna 3.5 FWD with Raptor charger on the quarter at Willowbank
The Magna runs 12.87 with around 9psi

Nice that's quick for a magna! They don't lose as much power through the drive train but haha and rwd is more fun![]()
congrats red on the times, i held the title for a long time, i hope u enjoy the title and keep doing us raptor boys proud
Thanks daren! Sorry to steal the title... Haha sort of just happened! Yeah confident that 12's are not far off!
A text just come in from a local Mackay customer with a VR V6 stock stroke with Raptor PSI kit with 11psi pulley
12.89 @ 101 for his first run at Palmyra Dragway tonight.
He thinks there is is more in it, we will see! Not cool weather either
The bar has been set a bit lower

Wow that's good! Tim do you have any more details on the car? Body?Auto? Diff gears? Tyres? Other mods?
Josh, just to clarify, my time is 13.8 and 3.45 gears. Other mods is correct.
(tadgh is 13.7).
I have lost track of this one
Yes it is auto, it would have a slick tyre, diff will be something crazy, the stall speed is like 4500 at a guess, body is full weight every day road car, engine is fresh, heads have work, tuned by our normal tuner (for Mackay tunes) - Electronic Automotive,
Just got another txt 12.58 for the quartermile for the VR V6 - customer very stoked
That is his last run for the night. This person does have quite a few posts in the Raptor VN - VR thread, has a number of some sort as part of the username.

Richard
Nothing more to say at the moment, that particular development is frozen at the moment as we concentrate on the Raptor V. I hope to return to it again next year sometime and get it done, very promising stuff but with a few bugs to overcome to adapt it for supercharger use.

Going to Willowbank tonight in Krackatinnee, will be running 15 inch low profile semi slicks if I get a good launch I expect mid 12's, but it my first time dragging from a stationary. I like skidding more
CIRCLE WORK IS A DRIFTERS RITE OF PASSAGE
The quartermile can be quite a testing thing, your timing must be perfect and traction can be as elusive as the pot of gold at end of rainbow
I normally allow myself 3 actual quartermile events before I believe I get the best time, first event is useless, 2 nd showing you get an idea of potential and 3 rd time I normally get the best possible time for that setup.
Usually totalling about 16 runs
LOL took me nearly 2 years to find best time from my Lancer 1.8 liter, never changed the setup and went from 14.4 down to 13.9, all the time believing 14.4 was about it.
If you can pull your best times from one visit to the track I will for one be the most impressed. You have a hell of a engine there tho, the mph should be getting around 110
