Hey guys,
Just wondering what would be the perfect style/size Intercooler on a VS Commodore? Inlet/outlet facing out the sides or on the back of the cooler? Any help is appreciated.
Cheers. :-)
most people use the 600x300x76 intercooler, not that you will need one the big its more for wank factor. It wont bolt right in you will need to mod your front bar to fit. Ive just got one for my vx and ill be spending the day trying to make it fit.

Yeah I want to try and stand clear of modding the bar/rio bar.
if you dont ant to mod the rio bar get youself a 400*300 sized cooler and that will fit back enough beside the little AC condenser unit , unless you have a big body kit you will have to cut the bar abit on the VS models

MR_VX - How much and where are you located at?
600x300x76 fits withut aircon with no real cutting bar sometimes the edge of the mouth in the front of some bodykits has good flow and pressure loss and does a damn good job of cooling hot intake charges
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

Cheers. It doesn't have air con at the moment but am putting it back in eventually so I don't think it will work. Thanks for the feedback though. :-)

Thinking about water to air. Just did a read up on it. Sounds like the way to go.
The PWR barrel W2A kits are indeed the go. Or, if you want to do it on the cheap, you can get fairly large W2A intercooler cores on eBay for under $200.
keeping water cold is the hard part they work great at the drags when you can fill the system with ice water but on the street air to air hands down winner normally due to so much free cold air around

You can try looking at this website
Air to Water Intercooler
We live in a hot climate here and the WTA can be quite cool to touch on the hottest day after the worst flogging. I use both and WTA is amazing, a good alloy radiator is the secret to cooling the water efficiently

i have a 300x600x76 in my vs and the results are great. very minimal cutting of the front bar and reo bar (i was concerned about this too) the aircon condenser has to be removed or moved though. i removed mine but will mount it again out of the way and get it plumbed back in and regassed when i get around to it... then you get cooler intake temps and cabin temps![]()
