Looks the goods - sounds like it goes good too!
I suggest you set yourself up with an intercooler kit with twin 32mm BOV's and up the boost a bit. I had close to 500nm when i intercooled mine.
definitely lookin at a cooler later on but have heard good and bad stories on them. . .
for now just want to drive and enjoy it.
as for fitting i have done everything my self in my garage with no dramas its all pretty straight forward. the only thing i got done at a shop was ofcourse the exhaust. . . . twin cat back from repco trade through work and then just got right price at slacks creek to fit cats / pipes and then hang the rest. . . .
Are you getting it tunned? Because thats the other reason for me not doing the installation myself.

How easy is it to install? Im not mechanically-minded so paying for it to be installed would be ideal. I did read that they come with instructions though...

I would suggest getting the 450x300x76 intercooler over the 600x300x76 (as i did) only because you will loss your lovely foglights with the bigger cooler. plus you will also have to relocate the dryer unit for the aircon as it will also get in the way when installing it. But if you want a 300x300x76 cooler, (which i got with my raptor kit ) I have it for sale PM me if keen.
Its as esay as doing a oil change on your carbut if you cant do that then i would recommend you paying someone to do it.

looking good mate. very neat. you polish up the plenum yourself? your in bris arent you? should come on a cruise sometime. need another raptor to roll with haha
Lag
I am impressed with the dyno result and the car looks good too. Anything over 185rwkw for non ic is a bonus, anything over 200rwkw is nailing the high edge of the potential for the non IC kit - well done.
Lag is also the only person to have an informed opinion on running a Raptor V versus a Raptor V L - We (everyone here including me) look forward to everything you have discovered difference wise between the 2 units.

cheers for the positive comments everyone.
yeah polished the top over half a box of xxxx cans started with some wet and dry then got onto a linisher and finished by hand tried a few things toward the end u no how it is gettin toward the 12th can.![]()
as for a cruise yeah definitely in bris / ippy area im only about 20 min from willowbank but i think a few raptored fellas should hook up some sort of meet and greet . . . discuss wat works and wat doesn. would be good!!
definitely tim i think the differences are pretty good value for the pretty low cost. honestly prob makes a bit more power due to its ease of spin up being that it is lighter and more usable lower in the revs as it does also come on a bit earlier.
i just got back from a coast run and fuel economy is really good also . . . prob even slightly better than n/a k's... which is a real bonus these days with 98 nudging the $1.60 mark...
cheers
What's your economy like man? Mine is usually 14/15 L/100...
REDVS2
You wanna qualify that economy with a mention of driving style you achieved it with also)

willowbank last night 14.2 at 99mph not bad for the first few passes f/i my auto is standard and slow change city but prob need to no how yous launch your autos. . . .
Hey mate 14.2 is good for your first time out and non intercooled on standard auto. I never took mine out at this stage so I wouldn't be able to tell you the comparison.
Best thing to do with the auto I think is to hold brake and the accelerator at a point just where you feel the car want to edge forward. Then push the accelerator down a split second before you release the brake. I found that in my car that reduces it bogging down off the line
Was speaking to sure shift yesterday and am looking to go for a kit that will firm the auto right up including boost valve, corvette servo/s and band shims with a service for $400.00 does this sound like the way to go ? Pretty cheap i thought??????
Sureshift are good. That's a good price for shift kit and service. Or you could wait till it dies and do a full rebuild...
