On that thought - where is the Alloytec starter located? If you could access that from under the car all you needed to do is earth clamp onto engine block and the pos clamp onto the starter solenoid, done from side of car so you dont need very long cables

Subaru have a feature like that, once you turn it on ..... no matter what else you turn off the parking lights stay ON. They are switched independantly of everything else

after over a year of paintwork neglect, i have spent a few hours detailing my car yesterday and today. first off just a weekly wash using meguiers nxt car wash, the purple one, then a full body clay bar, another wash, and this morning haven spent all day polishing and waxing the car. some pics of the card work
forgot to polish the engine bay, had lots of watermarks all over it, but have since bought that all to life again.
Did someone say SHINY? Very well done.
I think we have a forum issue here, at present I cant view your latest posts on this thread - but I get the email notification and post content in email as normal

Na I haven't, but being 45 bux a bottle, I'd say tech 2 is a lot better and longer lasting.
Tech 2 is the bees knees rich !!!
Looks the goods mate
Did a bit of a test yesterday, removed the manifold spacers only to find that I had lost a lot of low down power, couldn't even chirp off the line. So, seems to be that the alloytecs go harder with the manifold spacers on, as they are a bit sluggish in low rpm anyways. gets my approval to go back on the car![]()
Could be also that it was tuned with them in
Some may or may not know that the alloytecs are prone to having ecu failures. Lucky for me, I happen to fall in the category of having a blown ecu. So getting a new ecu fitted today, good thing I work in the industry and get a good price
What's the retail on a new computer?
Also just to confirm, the power figures on the dyno are in ft lbs, not nm like some think they should be. Due to the torque converter and gear/diff ratios, that's why it seems high.
Car has developed a vibration straight after new ecu installed. Turns out to be the rubber coupling on the tail shaft at the gearbox end. Will be replacing and see where it goes from there.
New ECU? Something new I didnt know about lol

yea new ecu, car has been imobilising itself, would not let me start it, shame that money could have gone to something else like upgraded pulley and extractors haha
replaced rubber coupling today, has resolved the vibration in high rpm, old one was completely ruined, stretched, torn, and soft. car drives a lot better now, seems to be a bit more responsive too, as if the power is not being wasted.
