    Default Holden Colorado/Rodeo w/Alloytec V6

I finally took some more time to take an objective look at the Alloytec in Colorado

Despite having said many times it isn't possible I now see a very easy way to get the Raptor V onto the motor. I did have a local candidate and will check with that person, if he is good to go then its something i can get done quite quickly

If you are needing Colorado/Rodeo boost - I can do it -

AFAIK they are with some minor differences such as oil filter location.

    Smile Inside out

Inside they are identical - dressed totally different so far as all the external bolt on bits

Oil filter is in another location

There are no cam phasing units at all on Colorado/Rodeo, Commodore engine has either one on inlet only or one on both inlet ane exhaust depending on engine

Alternator and power steering are in other locations too compared to commodore.

I have started on this one - customer vehicle arrived from down south

The whole setup is going to look VERY weird when completed but should be highly effective. The engine bay layout isnt leaving me with a lot of options but ...... results will be sweet.

The intercooling will be water to air unit

Starting with 157kw or approx 150hp at the tyre

The final number should be around 240 or so I hope

Colorado is coming along good, should have most of it sorted by next Thursday so far as hardware goes

Looking at a few piggyback options to get this puppy to run - if anyone has heard of one of these with a piggyback brand that worked well on it let me know

For now I have just a couple of choices

VCM does not support these Colorado of 2009 vintage

    Cool Sneak Peak

Here is the first image from the Colorado in the Raptor development shed

All the fab work will be completed today

I still have to add the correct SC mounting bracket, a water cooled charger, hoses, hose clamps and more silicone a pump and reservior.

Coming together well and will operate in the 8 - 10psi range

Setup is quite unconventional but meets all the requirements of a great system for Jap ute application

If you have driven a Colorado you will understand just how much this motor needs boost in this application. I found even the 3.0 SIDI engine in Commodore was better than I expected but the 3.6 in Colorado is really really underwhelming for power.

instead of having the intake running along the top of the engine, couldnt you run it from the cooler thing to the side of the engine where the oil filler cap is, then bring it back around to the tb? cant really say ive seen a colorado engine bay so i dont know the layout or space to work with

    Rich

They have very shallow depression in the plastic cover on the top of the raditor that is open towards the drivers side pretty much, it is super tight for room and we were SO lucky the TB is only 3" hose size, therefore I was able to use one of these newly available 180 bends to solve the issue

Its a bit what happens when you drop a motor from another vehicle type into another, the TB pretty much points directly into the top radiator tank, crazy thing.

You could fit a family of pygmies between the plenum and the bonnet, only a 77 model F100 Ford would have more room lol

I have been putting in the overtime on this one today, we should have it completed tomorrow

Stuck for a moment as I have run out of 6mm bolts to mount the intercooler - once i have procured some tomorrow I can quickly knock this over

    Cool Sneak peek

For whatever reason this image doesnt really give anything away yet its a full frontal shot. Disregard the air filter, its sitting in nowhere particular, the real deal has a huge intake pipe and forward located filter

Another Alloytec engine application getting boosted

Now this is an item that could run 12psi very easily, an almost loss free system with short pipework, compact intercooler and big intake pipe on the charger
