I got a COME 4.2 stroker, S.T-3 heads, wiseco forged pistons and the cam is 216/220 degrees duration intake/exhaust @.500 and 4.93 lift on both also with 112 lobe centres. Theres more info www.comeracing.com

The compression ratio is 8.2:1 which has 262 bhp with 270 ft.lbs of torque
and I should get the engine by tomorrow

It shouldnt be long till I get a supercharger off you soon, still don't know which one shall I choose tho.

No dont need prices Just wondering what the differences between stages 1 and 2? Just the pulley?
There should be plenty of room for your kit in the engine bay of a vh, Right?

Im still looking around at Superchargers and while leaning towards yours... I wanna know your answer to the following question...

Why choose your kit over the Powerdyne Stage 2 kit?

And how would you compare your kit to the Vortech Stage 3 kit offered by CAPA?

    Default Comparisons

    VN2NV

Why choose your kit over the Powerdyne Stage 2 kit?
The Raptor V in stage 1 form (ProStreet) is firstly an ultra neat single belt drive (no machining needed to fit an additional crank pulley), far easier to fit, offers a charger with 11psi capacity (the Powerd*** is rated to 9psi only), offers a very good generic tune(MEMCAL), new 36lb injectors (as opposed to stock injectors and an RR FMU), auto belt tensioning versus manual adjust etc etc etc, the differences are too numerous to mention them all. And to boot the Raptor system is cheaper if you go by web pricing.

And how would you compare your kit to the Vortech Stage 3 kit offered by .....?
The 2 biggest differences here is the Vortech can produce more than 11psi boost comfortably (Raptor limited to 11psi) and a Raptor stage 2 is an intercooled system FMIC or recommended to be configured as such. All customers have been organising their own intercooler systems and we provide the higher psi pulley and tune to match (stage 2). It works out cheaper for them and gets a better power result than any unintercooled kit no matter how high its stage number and you get all the easy life features mentioned in above paragraph as well!

Typically you can buy the Raptor Stage 2 kit (no intercooler or piping but with higher psi pulley and tune) get your own FMIC (450mm x 300mm x76mm)$200, have your piping done $1000 and still come in under $6700, compare that with the unintercooled stage 3 pricing of the system that you mentioned above. It is well known you can't go far without intercooling and water injection doesn't measure up to FMIC for convenience or performance. A stage 3 system in the configuration as advertised is unlikely to outperform any unintercooled stage as it will be limited by detonation/fuel quality around 10psi.

We are certain we are giving you a better deal on all counts, only thing is if you want very high PSI then you need the Vortech, no question.

Hope that provides some of the detail you were expecting.

Default Series 1 3800 in Gemini

Just another customer that is getting good power for the money. This person has a Gemini with 3800 series 1, he bought the Raptor ProStreet kit to speed the show up a bit. He specialises in 1/8 mile drags in his area since there is no 1/4 mile strips in his neck of the woods in Victoria.

The power is 180Kw (wheels, no intercooler) and really provides that awesome tail wagging sensation traction is a major problem. We are sure to hear from him soon about the improvement in times.

He was able to adapt the standard Raptor VN kit without problems, he just added his own plumbing and pretty much fitted the kit by 10:30am in the morning.

If there is more to report I will put it up

A brief update on Gemmy, its running 8sec flat on the 1/8 mile and with trap speed of between 85 - 90 mph pretty decent speed when you consider a lot of cars struggle to hit that speed in twice the distance.

Owner of Gemmy is very happy

I have mentioned here somewhere about a Silvia with 3800 and Raptor ProStreet intercooled stroker and waiting to find out what it developed.

It is a 4.3 with a Bradley stroker kit from Brisbane, made 226 RWKW with 9psi at 5900rpm (I think). Thats around the 300 RWHP

Must get some photos of it when I can

The SILVIA had a good night at the test and tune

Posted 12.3@109mph with the Raptor boosted 3800. Completely walks away from the turbo Silvia's with such ease.

I do have video of a run, well worth a look.

    See it here on youtube

On the crank, well I don't know but its all good so far. In this instance the vehicle owner bought the supercharger kit, then down the track decided that stroked would be good, bought the 4.3 kit.

Definitely an interesting setup .......the torque and power is stunning.

Just wondering if i buy the stage one kit and install it on my car then later on buy the extra parts and make it a stage 2 kit? How much would this cost? also how much is it if i buy a stage 2 straight away? The car in question is a VP V6.

    Cheers steve

Gday, Im running a 94 VR V6 at the moment, pretty much stock apart from 2.5" exhuast setup, with extractors and CAI. I was thinking about supercharging but havent made up my mind yet.

From what i have now are there any pre-requisites (anything i need to have done before i supercharge) to have atleast a stage 1 kit fitted? If you could give us a PM with any details, plus pricing would be great.

    Cheers mate.

    Smile 7 sec car ....... 1/8th mile

    An update from a customer

Back somewhere in this thread I mentioned about a Gemini with a V6 and Raptor............ owner is now in the 7's for the 1/8th mile and plenty of potential yet ........ very quik car!!!

Picture of system as he has installed it, he just purchase blower kit with NO piping and bent up some pipes at an exhaust shop, suited his budget just fine. You gotta smile at the airfilter up through the bonnet ........ works pretty well tho

GOOD NEWS FOR 3800 owners .......... we now know the way to get 200+rwkw easily from the 3800 with only 10psi! Been waiting to crack this hurdle for a little while since I was sure it could be done but it wasn't really happening.

Standby for pictures and details soon as I can get my hands on them, car is local to our area. Its all in the exhaust, the intercooler plumbing and the cam, when the combo is right the 3800 pulls just as hard as the ECOTEC or maybe slightly better since this combo doesn't nose over on the power chart and will make continuous power well beyond 6000rpm.

Should have something for you all to look at soon and I might even get the owner to come on and give his version.
