Got a nice little example of a boosted VN coming up
242rwkw so far and slowly rising
The owner is hopefully sending pics and charts (hoping hoping)

I can see two temperature senders on the front of the motor underneith the alternator.
Can some one tell me which controls the thermo fan and how to check if it is working ok ?
This is on a V6 motor.and Ive got my doubts if its working OK
Cheers Alfred
Apologies if I have posted this question in wrong place
Here are a couple of pics, the most modded 3800 I have seen for a fair while, the changing of all the inlet manifold plenum area is something most don't do.
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
Thats impressive. Has he used the top off a ecotec motor?
What internal work has been done?
What boost is being pushed through?
Cheers
looks like he's welded the ecotec plenum onto a buick manifold. interested to see what other mods have been done

Its a BIG list
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
Yeah I could imagine the list would be big.
Im not too sure if the new manifold would make that much of a difference, having the intake on the drivers side is a benefit for his set up but wouldn't a twin throttle body setup been better? Maybe more work though.
What gains are to be had with a twin TB setup on a supercharged car as its under boost anyway?

As from today
All VN - VR 3800 kits now ship with the Raptor V - L supercharger. This revised model of supercharger features light weight internals - the weight of the rotating components has been reduced by a full 20% which is corresponding into much faster engine acceleration and significantly longer internal belt life.
I believe customers who end up with one of these on their vehicles will find the can achieve results in acceleration, quartermile and possibly on the dyno that are superior to what has been acheived previously.

Its just come to my attention that the vehicle that the VR V6 was racing against in the above video has a Procharger intercooled supercharger system fitted to it!!
The 300 doesnt have the big engine tho, its the 5.7 liter version, but still with boost you would think ...........
A Raptor Supercharger on a well prepared V6 Holden provides plenty of wins

Hey tim it was an awesome night much better than i expected alot of time and oh yes alot of money has gone into the big girl but it lived up too the job all up that night we raced a ba xr8 ute a turbo skyline the 300c and a v8 vn not one had a touch on the raptor if anyone is doubting the raptor system now the proof is in the pudding on a well built engine these things can pump out some serious times and power but its back in the workshop for now with power comes injuries i twisted both lower trailing arms and did a pinion bearing that night so some strenght upgrades are on the way back there then a blower upgrade bit more boost and more than likely a tickle of laughing gas and see if we cant get it into the 11's![]()

Well lets up the ante a little soon as time and parts permit, I think we should add some low weight internals and a smaller pulley for a real shot at some even lower times at Palmyra
What you reckon?

Hey Tim
yeah for sure i have spoken to tim (electronic automotive) about boost increase he in forms me my tune would be ok for 1-2 psi more but no more that that without going on a set of rollers so if your thinking the new internals will already give it a boost increase might have too skip on the smaller pulley as you know there is no one around here capable of tuning the car and tim no longer comes up here so im at a bit of a stop sign atm unless you have some ideas up your sleeve would love too see 11sec on those time slips

OK DOK, lets go with the first stage and if we get mimimal increase then we can pulley![]()

yep sounds good to me let me know when you have bits there and i will rip blowe off and send him in![]()
adam what have you done to the engine, trans and diff, and what fuel and tyres were you running when you ran 12.5
Hey bud
Engine mods short list: 40 thou over, balanced, custom grind cam, mild head port, compression dropped to 9.0:1, over sized valve springs, 70mm tb, msd, pacemaker dual flange headers 3ince mandrel bent pipe twin stainless cats single muffler, plus more little bits along the way.
trans: went back too hydraulic box (vn) full manual reverse pattern 700hp 4000rpm stall cant give you full specs as i did not build it
12.5 was run on 15" M/T E/T slicks and front runners on pump premium
and rev limiter at 6500rpm
since my times before this best of 13.98 @ 99mph only changes were rev limit and stall
will be interesting what i can get out of mine.
no internal mods on engine. rockers, lukey extractors, high flow cat, redback 2.5 inch cat back. 300x600 intercooler. 2.5 in hot pipe, 3 inch cold, 11psi pulley, standard rev limiter.
gear box rebuilt by sure shift automatics to withstand 500hp, 2800 high stall, 3.45 lsd.
on shit road tyres my best time so far has been 13.1 without stalling up and a slow takeoff (to keep traction on the crap tyres)
13.1 thats quick for the mods that are done and on street tyres what was your mph and 60 ft time?. with that time some slicks and a bit of stall should see a big drop. do you have a video of the run?
cheers
mph off the top of my head was just under 105 i think. and 60ft just over 2.0 sec. i think the timeslip is in my ride thread. and there is a video there of my run of 13.2 there
