    1. You fitted the new pulley, were you able to shift the idler on the blower bracket down one hole or is belt tight enough?

    2. Is your air filter properly clean, you have been driving for some time now potentially its not clean

    3. Is the air filter slipped on too far, make sure its only on enough so the hose clamp can do its job properly

    4. Silicone bends are very tight, the metal bends are more progressive, tight bends can hurt psi

    5. Obviously checking for leaks and loose clamps

    6. BOVs won't affect anything PSI wise, you just gotta make sure your valves are not causing compressor surge otherwise you will be needing your SC serviced long before you should. Plenty been written on this here lately and what to do.

    7. With no measurement before you changed the pulley you are fully in the dark (flying blind ) on whats going on, could be the gauge, could be the system ......... how will you know. I suspect the gauge is probably not more than 2 psi out at the worst.

    8. You can go smaller than that pulley but until you have the system sorted out and making at least 10.5 - 11psi in the manifold its not worth it since you will have underlying issues robbing efficiency and performance.

There you go, see what you can figure out.
    1. i didnt see the need to adjust the idler it seems tight enough
    2. may look into this havent cleaned it its just been overlooked i actually have a kn filter cleaner kit in my shed.
3.the air filter may well be slipped on a bit far as it was fouling on the quater panel so i moved it up a bit i think.
    4. yer theres a few bits it like to fix with my piping which may be restricting it.
    5. doesnt seem to be any leaks at all
    6-
7.i actually just remembered that i have another boost guage shall give it a look
    8. yer ill be definatly trying to fix it before ordering another pulley

i may also try and get a 4' pipe made up not sure how im gonna fit it in but im sure theres a way.
and yer hopefully this has been a problem from start that i will be abe to fix and have free kw's and get some better times.

cheers for ur help once again

I am interested to know the power

I know one of these stroker owners was wanting the VLC option, we just started making them in earnest today, will see a few popping up around the place now.

Not sure if it was maniac or sircruisealot, i am sure I will be reminded if I need to know

That would have been me Tim, feel free to pm me about it. Im keen to get the VLC and a smaller pulley too.

Alan, wish i could head out to the drags but work is lame and there's just no way i'd be able to - im still not even 100% on whether i'll be at the drag day yet.

Time to update the signature, it takes only a small amount of wheel slip to knock .5 off a quartermile run as that slip kills your 60ft, definitely keeping an eye on this one

We have VR V6 stock stroke with a reasonable cam etc goign 13.0s here in Mackay so essentially you should be eating that with the stroker. The VR is going a 4000rpm stall now and a retune to 6600rpm for a stronger run

My next plans are a 3000 stall converter, 3.9 diff gears and change my rev limiter to 6000rpm then watch my times drop

just wondering wat every1 else is doing exhaust wise
this monday mine is going in to get a exhaust put on
im keeping my pacemakers just na pacies
and then into twin cats 2 1/4 pipes
then merge into a single 3' into a hotdog and muffler at the rear
    this should be ok yeh
i didnt want much drone but aparently merging into a single 3 will give me better velocity and better note rather trying to get a sound out of 3 cylinders.

Yep, gets a reasonable sort of tick of approval from me

Can't see any mention of a catalytic converter tho, should be going twin 2.5" or single 3"

Yes my good friend and I made you this exact offer only last week - didn't hear back from you about it tho!

OK, you can go a 12psi pulley, all I ask is that you check it on the dyno and you install a 32mm BOV (with Raptor recommended mods), no amount of small valves will handle this bad boy.

Hope you got a good exhaust to let all the SNORT out

My experience with the VY project car

    10psi goes very well

12 psi really goes quite a bit harder by comparison. I can't think of anyone running the 12psi manual right this moment, but you can be sure it will "feel" 30% more powerful since the boost comes in MUCH earlier

yeah thats what im after more boost earlier and some 3.9's should b a bit of a weapon........do u have a price on this 12psi pulley?
when u say to get it checked on the dyno i think its 100buks here to do a power run, will a normal powerrun show if the car is running lean or not? or is that just for a figure?

The power run isn't so much part of the question, its all about safe air fuel ratio

When you order your power run make sure you ask for a dyno chart that shows the power and air fuel ratio on it, if they aren't sampling the exhaust gasses during the run then hightail it outta there with your ute and find someone who does. I would expect 100% of dynos can measure and log air fuel ratio.

Then if its needs more fuel simply supply your dyno chart to chiptorque and some $$$ and they will do a you a revised tune for more fuelling.
