you forget to add intercoolers into your physics equation most pressure loss comes from them
You were suprised, I felt vindicated, I could not have got this help from anywhere else and until it was proven by Brad it would have remained a theory
The bend tightness is part of theory and the other is the surface co-efficient of silicone hosing, its very sticky compared to alloy or hard plastics (like stock intakes). The surface co-efficient of clean Alloy metal vs silicone hose is massively different.Getting rid of it all makes a HUGE difference if you got stickiness and tight bend all happening together, on go the air brakes
Thank goodness we now have proof, independantly verified![]()

We tried 4 different intercoolers on ImpulsesV6 Alloytec and never found any restriction difference between brands, in the end silicone bends will likely prove to be the greater impediment to airflow efficiency
I suggest now that people with Raptor IC kits and well built self constructed IC systems are now experiencing some of the lowest loss intercooling systems in Australia.
I am providing this info to our Alloytec customers and they are free to either retain or remove the silicone from their systems. The kits all made their advertised power but now there is opportunity to get an extra 3psi or so based on recent discovery. Going to be some bigger Alloytec numbers I feel ..............![]()

everything is trail and error, and how can something be answered if its never be donte or asked before, these forums are perfect for people to discover whats going in underneath other peoples bonets and what works and what doesnt,
i think i have the 90deg bend into the engine sorted, but the 90deg bend out of the charger is something that may need the charger modified...
will send ya some pics tim when i get a chance
Absolutely and its of huge value when a manufacturer like ourselves continues to work with the customer, I think a lot of people have learnt a lot here at no cost to themselves but in turn benefitted in some small or even large (brad) way

Email me more pics of where you are up to with your silicone change out, got your last lot, looking for more![]()

fairly efficient for a cheap cooler.probably chinese made but if it measures up to these figures who cares where it came from. it certainly looks like a near zero loss system is achievable with low pressure systems (10-15psi). i think the other thing to consider here is that the raptor doesn't seem to heat the intake charge that much so the cooler doens't need to do a lot of work.

does any1 no what is the closest you can have your pod filter to the supercharger? i was goin to mount mine strait off the supercharger but i noticed tim said its no good, so was just after a rough length i could put a strait peice of 4" silicone then adapt a filter?
Since the supercharger is a fixed displacment device of sorts, you do realize if he is seeing less than calculated boost, it could have something to do with the motor processing more air than a stock Alloytec.
these motors are a fair bit differnt , the tune is pretty well perfect for these motors, and it has been physically proven then that the way you run your cooler pipes affect boost, as its the same on all intercooled cars turbo or blown. the less pipe and less bends the better, common sense.
A straight piece silicone for 4-6" then the filter would be a reasonable plan.
The Raptor V will deliver a huge variation in volume at a given pressure - whether on Alloy, Eco or 3800 the same compressor speed will give the sam boost IF pipework is optimal

G'day there,
As ive looked through a few pages of this thread it seems the go is to ask for prices and you will PM.
Ive got a VX series 2 auto sedan and was lookin for a bit more get up and go, was wondering if your could provide estimates of power with your different supercharger kits, and price of parts/estimated installation.
Cheers,

Low cost 32mm blow off valves
I cannot VOUCH for their quality/lifespan but have seen one in the flesh and seemed not too bad

G'day Tim
Could you Pm me the price for an intercooler kit and 12 psi pulley.Time to step up a notch!
Thanks

will these low cost valves work on an intercooled kit tim? woodnt mind giving 1 a go, so i would just need the supercharger spring for it would i?
I have an email from a customer that I would really like to put up here, its from 2 brothers one who bought a Raptor kit and the other the 9psi V*****H kit. They both seem (from what they say) to have identical other mods like rockers etc. The performance difference between the 2 systems is quite amazingly different considering both are price similarly and so on.
I won't post it (the email) on account that someone maybe could to the reverse to us through time/chance but I think you will get the idea this one went our way by a pretty decent margin.
Everyone has their wins/loses ...... this one went our way
In this instance (VY V6) the ProStreet Stage 1 with rockers went 182rwkw (in the advertised range) putting it over 20rwkw in the lead

How much for a vs v6 auto stage 1.5 kit? and does it require a custom tune or is a tuned memcal included in the kit? and also is a shift kit on the auto a necessity? thanks
redvs2
You can add the shift kit later, over time I have changed my views a bit and would suggest an oil cooler for the auto, easier to install/get done and enhances the way the auto shifts and lasts
The 1.5 kit is an intercooler kit but we don't supply any pipework, its the ProStreet Stage 1 + intercooler, intercooler tune, and basic blow off valves for 9psi operation. You need to organise the pipes.
All kits include a MEMCAL with a high quality tune, been supplying them for a LONG time now.
$5500 for that one

A little news update from Raptor
We will shortly be introducing a new Water to Air intercooler product to supercede our Air to Air system, will be just as efficient, easier to ship, complete stealth, no boost loss ever and far simpler to install. FOR VT - VY, not for VS due to space constraints
About 5 weeks away now, will be dyno tested prior to selling kits

hi i currently have a vt, only has a 2.5" full rebback exhaust at the moment, but will be getting some pacemakers & an aftermarket cai soon, i was wandering about the stage 1 kit you have, what estimated gains can be expected in rwkw, estimated quatermile & a rough price (fitted). and a price non fitted.
estimes dont have to be spot on, just a rough idea of what can be expected estimately, thanks for your time.
Hi Tim,
Any more news on the W2A intercoolers? It sounds like the way to go for stealth....
installing my intercooler for the raptor kit i got, im havent a few problems can any one please show me some pictures of how and where to pipes hook up please!
