yes a non intercooled kit is what im after , what kind of intercooler would i need ?? i have a fortune bodykit so there is lots of space for an intercooler and going to put some bonnet vents to help get rid of heat to go with the intercooler , also i have heard the standard radiator plastic tanks can crack so i may need an alloy radiator is this true ?? thanks chris
chris your first post said you had a 2000 VS. Thats a little confusing on its own, they only made them till 97? Later, you've mentioned you own a VZ ute, though you havent stated whether or not the ute is the car is in question. If in fact you are talking about a VZ you are talking Alloytec not Ecotec.. you might want to clarify before you start ordering parts..
VS utes were made up until 2001.
Chris
Confirm your vehicle model and year when you get a chance - want to send you the correct parts!
About the radiator - plastic tanks age with time, you can either replace with a new Holden part or go aftermarket with alloy, stock works perfectly and probably a LOT cheaper. Have someone who knows what they are looking at inspect your radiator tanks, last thing you need is all your water being dropped while at full noise lol
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
The end tanks are relatively cheap to change, worth doing imho providing your core is in good condition.
2000 series 3 vs ute
the radiator is about 3 years old has done around 25,000kms and is in good condition , taking this ute on a trip to broken hill early next year and i have already broken down in the middle of no where and dont fancy sitting around in 40 degree weather waiting for parts to fix something , the plastic tank radiators i can get from car r us for $88 new and the alloy ones are around $230
This is the correct thread for another story
A customer is taking their VT V6 Commodore to Lake Gardiner next year for SPEEDWEEK, apparently trying to set some kind of record on the dry lake bed. Hoping the Raptor will power his V6 to a class record - whatever the class is
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
Those DSLR guys have a squillion classes lol
Good luck to everyone on the white shit
forgot to mention im taking a holiday to top of qld later in year or early in the new year thats why i wanted to know if i need a deposit and how long it would take to make the kit as im spending only a week or so there , definetly going to pick kit up from mackay
Chris
I will take a small deposit from you shortly and the rest on pick up, will manufacture it in advance so you can collect it in 5 mins of your time

It seems we have a new front runner in the Raptor V6 Power stakes
Location of vehicle - Brisbane
VS V6 ute w/manual (T56)
Boost pressure 11.7 manifold pressure - Raptor V L series
Engine is stock stroke - still 3.8 liter only
Compression ratio 10:5:1 - Hi silicon cast pistons
Heads stock
Cam ZZP item
LS1 Air Flow meter (too small)
Intercooled
Engine building advice came from SRE (Spencer Race Engines)
Tuned and Dyno'd by Chiptorque for 257rwkw @ 5900 rpm - Today
I have the dyno chart copy but I believe the owner will be along here in a week or so - he is a member and you have seen him here before. He is the drift man, some images posted here some place of his past works!
That folks ............. is how its done. As i have often said stock compression or MORE, never less - low compression is a waste of everything.

I learned yesterday my cousin who has high boost Raptor V on his VS Ecotec says he has 280rwkw. At this stage not having more details and not having seen his chart - I am not finding it believable .......either

Your making me blush, LOL. Sorry mate the just cast high Silicon pistons my mistake, PEACH is the local builder- awesome dude Geoff and it was 10.7 psi going MAFless tune next and will be good to rev to 6600rpm (cam rated for 6800, but I'll let the power curve set the limit) Had to limit to 5500rpm until then as the comp and MAF start clapping out
CIRCLE WORK IS A DRIFTERS RITE OF PASSAGE
OK, changed the original post

The salt lakes racer VT V6 has been tuned up
235rwkw. The owner suspects the cam timing is incorrect as the power should have been a solid 260 but fell short and there is no time to fix it, they go racing on the 19th of this month
Pictures etc in the near future

Hey raptor. i got a VS V6 SIII Auto Can you PM me all details on 1.5 and stage 2 kits with what id need, everything. Thanks
Would a Stage 1.5 S/C suit 1.9 rockers from MACE and a stage 2 cam from MACE (suiting the rockers), as well as shift kit and 3.7 LSD diff?
Also have MACE CAI, should I go with Stage 1 instead?
