Hey, just checking on prices for the 1 and 1.5 kits, and also do you have to tune the ecu yourself or what goes on there? Also just wondering on the power delivery is there power from the word get go or do you have to wait for boost to come on and when does this power surge usually?
Thanks Heaps

Looking for a bit of advice, would love to supercharge my 98 VT V6 but it has done 285,000 klm's. I have had it 9 of it 10 years and 75% of the klm's where on country roads. Recently i had serious trouble with overheating but i have had this fixed, crossing my fingers, this now seems to have settled down. I run the usual mods, K&N filter, CAI and it is chipped. It has no serious oil leaks and i think it runs pretty good for it's age. I am worried that because of it's age it wouldn't handle the extra horse power. Do you think it is possibly a bit long in the tooth for this sort of upgrade?
If so i would re-build this or another engine, any advice if i do and could i get a cost of the stage 1 kit freighted to Melbourne's Sth East.
Cheers, Darren.

I think its getting a bit long in the tooth if you like.
I personally would hunt down a motor with about 100k km on it and probably I would get motor and auto together, something from a VU or VY would be preferable. Drop that straight in and we are all set to go up to 220rwkw if you want to take it that far.
The engine change over will be quick because its 99% the same and you will be more than happy you did it as the whole drivetrain will feel much newer.

A customer has just ordered his 4" intake to bring in more boost and power, again the action will all be in Perth
The most powerful Raptor boosted cars are all in WA, people I have never met, probably never will and dyno shops I have never heard of on many cases. So I can only take it the results are all bonafide!
Will put up some photos of this huge new intake when we have manufactured it.

Tim,
Whats the new intake worth?
Any trade-in value on the old one?

Yes there is certainly a trade in value, will pay $150 for that part returned in reasonable condition

hey tim, could you pm me some details about this intake. also being larger does bonnet clearance become an issue at all, or is it set up differently?

So far the LS1 intake has been applied to the wide body commodores ie VT - VY, I need to investigate how it will be on the VS.
I will likely continue to call this the LS1 intake even tho its going onto the V6s, it is proven to flow up to 600hp of air into the Raptor V with no problem and on LS1 supported 440rwhp with ease. See the dyno chart on the LS1 part of our website.
Give me a few weeks on this one ....... Getting some Blue Oval stuff sorted at present
