Default Raptor V ownership in the longer term.

Some information for those thinking about Raptor V and long term maintainence/rebuild costs etc.

Should you ever have to have your Raptor rebuilt the cost will never exceed $300 for a full rebuild (2 x ceramic, 2 x standard ball bearing and 1 high speed belt and labour included), this is important to know and worth comparing to other systems that could be considered for your V6.

Raptor V is the lowest cost to refurbish to new specifications of any SC in Australia, definitely the lowest cost SC in terms of total life cost. Turn around time is overnight when possible.

How often would this need doing? We don't know, have never recieved a unit back from a Holden yet, these actually spin slower than the Vs on 4 cyl cars. Some of the Mitsubishi units have been out there for many years now, a couple of those had warranty work on them being very early units but that is what warranty is for, no charge to customer. How often the rebuild need to happen will depend on how brutally the unit is treated, but rest assured each time you get a rebuild you will have charger as good as the day you bought it.

    Default Raptor supercharger internal belt

    Hi,

My supercharger has managed to eat the internal belt.
It is possible to get another belt and change it myself or will it need to go back to Raptor?

    Regards,

    Call Tim mate,

This would be a warranty issue as they are covered for 12 months.

Kieran emailed me today, it will be renewed, possible faulty belt won't know until it gets here.

Otherwise will be back up an running again real soon, no charge to Kieran of course.

A note to every person who ever reads this thread, in the event of warranted repair all Raptor V units must come back to Raptor for warranty work, the service is free therefore there is no benefit touching something you WILL stuff up.

    That is very reasurring Tim

Gotta love the cost even if it is out of Warranty, I have spent more than that on most things I have done to the car.

    very cheap indeed.
$300 for a full rebuild (2 x ceramic, 2 x standard ball bearing and 1 high speed belt and labour included),

do you service other brand's or just your own??___(i understand different belt's, bearings, tollerances)

Well ours is going in for Tim to rebuild, but not because of any probs, just because its changing cars and may as well have a freshen up while its off. We have had it on our VN for about 3 years now and it was daily driven every day by my wife, drag raced and toured in and never, ever missed a beat.

The kit price is $7350 for intercooled Alloytec kit. Will give you around 220 - 235rwkw and around 700Nm at the tyres.
