Well today marked the first VLC kit for a VZ on its way to a customer, will start out softly with it and see how we go

A little bird tells me a VZ Alloytec ute might become a Raptor development vehicle so we can really push the Alloytec envelope, stay tuned for some action on this one in the medium future

Yes you will be that person for sure

It will be the first VLC on any Commodore, we have one on a Territory and one on a Magna 3.5 currently, shortly to be followed by an ECOTEC Stroker and a Toyta Hilux V6 4.0 with one as well

The next generation of Alloytec Raptor Systems are going to be quite eye opening

Today we also passed on our tuning knowledge to another major tuner who was just plain beat, this would be the 3rd time in the last 3 weeks. Confirming that the tuning behind the Raptor kits is the stuff to have

Only thing is we have nothing to help with turbo, its just not possible at this time.

The one Matt had there is on freight now I think but it essentially looked like a standard Raptor V, very hard to pick it, was nicely blended unlike the earlier version.

The 175s go hard too, last couple of kits on 175s made 325rwhp but I have to say they don't all make that, but we are slowly bringing it up all the time, I think going Water to Air cooling is going to really lift it.

A 190 with ATA will work a range between 280 - 330 rwhp at around 8 - 9psi, this is done within the tuning limitations of the software.

I wish I knew what limitations you're speaking of so I can get some people that are tight with Chris at HPTs to start working on eliminating them.

If you simply ask "Chris" to make the software ready for Alloytec turbo tuning you probably won't see him for a month since he would already know the limitations of the existing software. There is not very much stuff you can change/alter compared to what is needed for turbo and to some degree also for SC

Of course "Chris" might decide since demand for the Alloytec software is low in USA he will ignore your request anyway, I would imagine that he has a lot of demand for other more popular new models.

Either way if you discuss it with this man you would find he could tell you where the short comings are due to his experience with tuning for TC engines

Lol, why put "Chris" in quotes all of the time?
Typically when speaking with Chris, he asks for an example of what happens to the car so he can come up with a lead to have his guys start on.
If you say he knows than I'll simply ask him, I just figured it would be just as easy for you to simply explain where you found short comings from the ECU rather than what seems like spouting conjecture to me. If I'm picking up your tone in the wrong way I apologize but I feel like your getting a bit irritable? No need. :]

Just trying to figure out how we can make these 3.6's sing!

    Haha

I have been attempting in a moderate way to get you to go to those who might know, all we know on our end is there isn't very much stuff to work with, I gathered by the information you posted about look up tables etc earlier that you probably can get your hands on a copy of Alloytec software pretty easy or maybe you already have it, if you get that far I think you will find out for yourself real fast there is SFA to work with.

Check it out, you gotta get a copy of it sometime if you want to get started, your learning will commence at that point, you will see its the crappiest tuning solution you ever laid eyes on

very neat, would be very effective to flow it thru a small ata cooler as well.

Well got the VZ back today with the 12psi pulley on it. It appears we are maxxing out the AFM, its leaning out after around 5600rpm and the AFM is showing +5v. It just doesnt seem to be able to handle the amount of air that we are pushing through it. It's making 7psi at these revs though which is a good sign and the low down torque is much improved. So now we are looking at putting a LS2 AFM on to cope with the airflow. Is anyone else having this sort of issue?

Woo, that car is going to make some boost, it would appear you could make 11psi+ by 6500rpm

VERY intersted to watch this one now, and the old VN blower is hanging in there. You will have to really be on your guard with compressor surge as I am 99% certain you are going to hit it hard once you cross 10psi line
