    Smile VZ Alloytec Kit Development

VZ Alloytec kit development starts next week. The customer wants the full monty with front mount air to air and 10psi boost. We are not providing the tuning for this system.

Will definitely be interesting and looking forward to having this car ready to rock and roll soon.

The outcome for everyone else will be a stage 1.5 ProStreet Intercooled System for VZ Alloytec with around 9psi of boost.

I really don't know the outcome but something like this could go 200 - 220 rwkw if it comes together correctly.

I expect our ProStreet kit to be around the 190rwkw mark.

I terms of pricing I am thinking similar to the Ecotec kits for the VY etc .... somewhere between $5k and $5.5k which will be exceptional value if I we get a tune into that price as well

A further point is we normally do the first 2 sometimes 3 kits at quite a low price, this gets a couple out on the road, so for anyone considering ........... one is already gone.

Can you document the installation of the next one ? talk to CHE for the tuning side of things, they have had great results with tuning the Alloytec.

any idea how the (both auto&man) gearbox/clutch will go? -will standard be able to handle the power?
will the auto gearbox need reprogramming?
    injectors?
    fuel pump?
is this a pre or post 1/1/06 engine?
what is the expected power difference when fitted to a high output alloytec?

    Impulse

A lot of questions there I cannot answer, I suspect 90% of it is no different to the ecotec in a VY, meaning, clutch may need to be upgraded at some point, meaning auto might need a shift kit and otherwise tune the motor. The 2 things I have mentioned should be upgraded on any late model holden being supercharged whether V6 or V8.

I expect our ProStreet kit to be around the 190rwkw mark
is this power figure based on the standard 175 kw engine, no power up mods?

would it be possible to get 340rwhp(253rwkw) out of one of these kits? - with what other work?

    Smile Alloytec Prototyping

Here is some of the prototype shots, work is going well and most items are in the sorted category.

Only a couple of images, the first one is after airbox and gear is removed.

The other image shows the prototype bracket fitted, blower mounted to that, the belt fitted, power steering reservior relocated. Will have pipework completed this week as will be the bracket which is laser cut from laser plate steel.

The vehicle we recieved had no engine cover fitted however to be honest the best performance will come with it off, is appears to be the best heat trapper I have seen apart from the Gen 3 item. So you want power and economy toss the cover since power and excess heat aren't good bedfellows.

    Benefits:

Ultra easy to fit, I am thinking 2hrs max, theres stuff all to do
Supercharger and piping mounted well away from extractors and hot radiator air.
Runs the same drive belt as our ECOTEC kits, no special belt that is hard to get, bonus.
10mm steel bracket with 5 bolts mounting it
Supercharger is easy to fit and remove
Supercharger positioned to factilitate intercooler install.
    Low cost
Typcial Raptor power output (high and reliable) .... Is the plan.

I am thinking we can supply kit without injectors and tune for $3700 for introduction to the market. Contains a lot less parts than ECOTEC kit therefore cheaper. A kit contain tuning, injectors and pump (possibly) will be a bit over the $5k from what I can see at this time.

    Questions and comments welcome

as long as the alloytec makes more than the ecotec,
and the alloytec 190 makes more than the alloytec 175
    ill be happy.

    how bout an intercooler?

This particular vehicle will be intercooled at 10psi but not by us, we are developing non intercooled kit for the 175 engine.

At present I feel certain this kit will not fit the 190 engine since the cam phaser for the second cam occupy's some important space. Will review this when I can get hands on a 190 engine and confirm if it be true.

At a guess our intercooler kit from VY will fit with only minor mods, keep that in mind for those who want cooling.

    Thanks for your pictures impluse

I think the system I have designed yesterday will not fit, you can see the second cam phasing sensor/actuator directly behind the powersteering reservior mount. I may be able to engineer around that if you give me a better picture (up closer) of the stuff behind the Power steering bottle mount.

I have taken into account the oil filter access and it is very good, heaps of clearance and a Holden technician could still service the engine no problem.

    Default Kit Image

World, here it is, Raptor SC's newest kit for the VZ Alloytec

No results yet as tuning happens this week sometime, enjoy the images.

Very easy to fit, only 5 bolts, move the Power steering reservior and then bolt the charger on. Just so easy its unreal, its also the first side mount system in existance for the Alloytec, no one else has been able to do it. Sidemount is always the easiest and quickest for the customer to install and easy to work on meaning very low cost, install time of 1-2hrs for anyone who can use a spanner. Will be good price, cheap to fit and simple as .........

The airfilter is near impossible to see (which is good) and no need to remove radiator to fit the kit.

Enjoy the pic, comments and questions welcome. The system you are seeing is 98% complete in the image, the blue silicone will be changed to black and there is a screw missing from the suction pipe if you can even see that. Engine oil filler is still openable and if one screw is removed the filter can be serviced as per normal.

As always, 1st released images are on JC

ImpulsesV6 brought his vehicle to me today and we established beyond doubt that the current Raptor 175 kit will not fit the 190! He also offered me a drive of his car which goes very well for a stock engine with a retune and its about to go much better when he boosts it one way or the another

The good news is a new kit design which when complete will take about 20 mins to install instead of the 1-2hrs for the first design and be compatible to both engines.
