Default VZ SV6 - Raptor Supercharged

A few months ago I was pondering selling my car, an 06 Sv6 with every mod available - except supercharging.

I found that even tho my car was considered quick, and I had made my own individual changes to my ride to make it how I like it, I felt like I was still wanting more performane, the bug had bit. I came across a VY SS running over 400rwhp that I was considering.

Then one day I just went **** it, Im going supercharged!
Ive worked hard and spent lots of my money to get my car how I like it, why should I sell and take a loss to purchase a car that i dont know the full history off. besides if and when I decide to sell I could always return the car to stock and flash in a tune and sell the car and keep the supercharger kit or sell it aswell.

As you can see on the above dyno chart, my car on Matt Stockers Mainline dyno, shows a base figure of 148rwkw and 744rwNm.
this was enough to run Aust quickest NA alloytec with 14.37@95.3mph

NOTE: do not always believe dyno figures to show your cars true performance, take it to the strip - the strip cant LIE
some alloytecs claim more power, but they run slower in time and slower in mph.

One of the Best bits about this kit, is that the tune you take to get uploaded to your car by your favourite tuner, the tuner you choose can then tweak the tune to match your car perfectly (as not every car has the same exhaust etc)

If anyone wishes to be taken for a drive I have no issues either, but unfortunately I cant take you for an 8psi test ride in 3rd gear cos that would lead to speeding when, but i can take you for a ride in the gear that the 5spd likes to kickdown too - that being 2nd gear.

tomotoes / tomatoes I am very very happy with the whole package and service provided by Matt and Tim, both of these guys have been very approachable on all fronts. I think I have spend in excess of 10hours in the workshop pestering Matt with all sorts of questions and Matt has been very honest. Tim has been available for all my questions out of working hours - bet you wish you didnt give me your mobile number hey Tim, lol.

if i was to start again, would i get my Alloytec with basic mods, (exhaust, cai) tuned? - NO, its a waste of $1000. any truthfull workshop will tell you this.
would i get my car supercharged with the Raptor Intercooled kit? - YES YES and YES

honestly the tune is great. starts great, idles great, runs great.

I did damage a cat somwhere sometime after having the charger installed also broke an o2 sensor so it was throwing "check powertrain" fault codes. raplaced the cats with magnaflow metal cats, and running awesome again.

the stock 5spd auto is going great also

Anyone who has been thinking the Alloytec feels a bit lame to drive ....... no problem anymore, big power is now as easy as ABC

It the tuning thats really made it stand out from other product on the market, all fun no issues when the tune is properly reflashed as done by Matt Stocker.

Welcome to the rarified scene of Alloytec supercharging, we look forward to your results and development in the Wild West. Will be decent to have someone with tuning and fitting capacity in WA so customers can get a decent result

    KFK

Don't overlook testing an intercooled system soonest that you can, people out there like the good stuff if its within their budget.

Russell (KFK)is going non intercooled on his 175 and making some tune files to suit, thats his initial approach.

the polisher at work reckons its gonna cost too much $$$ for him to do it, he recommends getting it chromed. so eventually gonna have a crack and start sanding it myself

    Green

In that instance KFK should have his tuning sorted out to a high standard if he hooks in soon

If you wish not to reply to this post you can PM me.

I just wanted to know how much $$ is it for a supercharger kit, fully installed with the necessary ECU work / tuning (I understand this is a third party).

Let's say it's about 5k for the kit and then how much to tune it all and get the transmission redone as well.

What would the total cost be (ballpark) to basically drive car in stock, and out Raptored and ready to drive every day?

I know there are always hidden costs so I thought I would check.

I have always been a Subaru turbo man, Chargers and Commodores are a totally different game that I want to try now

Any help from people who have been / done would be greately appreciated.

No sorry mate, I am in Sydney.

I would just prefer to know how much it is going to cost, instead of dreaming and then finding out I cant do it because of finances.

Impulse's SV6 has a beautiful whine to it. Is this what a standard kit will sound like?

Is Newcastle too far to go for the services of a tuner?
