I have been looking on the site and it specifies that the Raptor V is for engines up to 5L, and the Raptor V Hybrid is for over 5.5L engines. I have a 355 stroker, so technically is now a 5.7L not a 5L. Does that mean that if i were to get a supercharger kit from you i should be getting the Raptor V Hybrid, or would you still recommend the Raptor V? Also is there any difference in warranty validation etc?

How much boost pressure would you like for your 355?
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
Not saying anything about the Raptor R as such but a variant of it will be running possibly soon as end of next week.
I will have some pics otherwise it is going for export and will not be seen here.
Pics will be provided

Lets see what the next few weeks brings, if I have time to make up a few more I will do that, will also look at slipping one on the tractor pulling tractor for some heavy duty testing, big revs and continous boost testing.
Will get some more covers cast once we machine up the first one ---------- TOMORROW![]()

As always we release our juiciest information on Just Comms FIRST
The Raptor V Hybrid was born into the world today! This beast is for those who want more flow (stroker V8s, 4 valve head V8s) than what the Raptor V would give.
All the Raptor ProStreet kits for the 5.0 liter will remain but for additional cost this item is now on the scene to fill the needs of a 355 - 383 stroker engines
Otherwise its for use on anything where it can fit
Enjoy these images of the epic weapon, has a billett alloy impeller, I think pretty much the only other supercharger with billett impeller is Procharger ....... until now![]()

how about we strap one onto my LS1 you know ill run it in
I know you will
Once we get a few on hand it could be a proposition, all units being made right now is presold for the moment but we will get ahead of orders soon

ok well once they have been ran for a while, ill be more than happy to run a cooled 12 psi system again
if you wanna swap my current order for one of those hybrids i think i'll allow it![]()
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
well they both whine but the blower actually puts out
Finally some info on the Hybrid BEAST
Could be awesome on a Commodore V6!Just came back from the first drive with the new blower.
Flat-out awesome!
Comparing: (from same car with same camshafts, etc) and even the same pulley on the supercharger.
We had first positive pressure in the manifold as early as 2000 rpm, where the Raptor V gave us first positive pressure at 3600 rpm.
We now develop 170 kpa of pressure at redline, and the Raptor V gave us 128 kpa.
We also note that the boost is more progressive and linear. The Raptor V compressor map showed that it could not quite keep up with our 5.0 L 32v engine. The compressor map for the Raptor V Hybrid shows that it had not trouble keeping up.... the boost never wavered and did not have a small sweet spot like the Raptor V. This supercharger has a big, smooth sweet spot. Very comfortable.
on the last drive I spun the tires from 1st to 2nd gear, spun them again from 2nd to 3rd, and spun them AGAIN from 3rd to 4th!

Too right it could - gear it up for 12psi @ 2000 rpm and regulate it with a wastegate - i'll put my hand up for one!
OK latest in from the USA - dyno testing of Raptor Hybrid (495hp) vs the Raptor V (430hp)
Engine is 5 litre V8 Porsche
Came back from the dyno, and we put down 495 HP at the tire! Up from 430 at the tire before.
But wait, its BETTER than that.... the only dyno I could get to was an eddy-current dyno and they are 40-50 HP low compared to the inertial-drum dyno I have been using.
.
I will go to a matching inertia-drum dyno just like the one used to measure the car and Raptor V previously.
I expect to see 520 or more at the tire. Add 15% for engine output.
The Raptor Hybrid is showing 65hp extra when tested on a different type of dyno to normal, it will show more he expects when tested on same dyno. If it does make 520hp at the tyre on the dyno they normally use then it will be an indication that a Raptor Hybrid can add an additional 70 - 90hp at the tyre over the Raptor V.![]()

Raptor Superchargers is soon keeping the Raptor Hybrid as a stock item, initial parts supplies are on the way! Supports 500+ Hp at the tyre

how well would one of these suit an ecotec? or how about the Raptor V
The Raptor V is the supercharger used in all our ECOTEC kits
The V Hybrid is a bigger beast and simply wouldn't fit very easy
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
oh ok thanks, and is 12psi max you can get out of these blowers?
Another hybrid has just been created, this one goes onto a Subaru 4 cyl
This will be the first fitment of a Hybrid to any vehicle in Australia
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
Would it be extremely difficult to fit a hybrid onto an ecotec? Would it be capable of more boost down lower?
Yes in both instances, but then again we should do a test fit on an ECOTEC, we could do this tomorrow maybe
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
So if it did end up fitting, is it as simple as sending back a normal raptor R and having it frankensteined into one of these bits of gear?
Yes it would be that simple to upgrade the charger, remember tho the intake size is 4" vs 3.35" and outlet is 3" versus 2.5" so some changes to pipework too
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
Yeah i thought the piping would have to change - not to worry, I reckon that trent would be able to sort it out if it becomes a possibility.
