It may not have come with the premium stereo as standard. You might need to check that first. If so, as far as I know the amp should be directly behind the battery on both wagons and sedans. Mine is a sedan and that is where it is. Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk

Not a silly question at all! You are right. It is effectively the same thing however, swapping the connections is a neater solution and that is really the only benefit particularly if you ever want to reverse the mod and not make it obvious. Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk 4

I used a 5A noise filter on the audio line. I picked it up from Autobarn and you simply plug in the 3.5mm plug and cable. It removed about 90% of it. Now with the volume right down you can just hear it but normally I don't hear it anymore. "E1 Clubby R8 when only an 8 will do!"

Sounds like a bad idea. Nothing worse than a job that goes wrong on a car. It would drive me nuts. Given how much it would cost to get it done properly I think I would rather spend the money on performance improvements, better rims or similar. Thanks for the tips!

I have just applied 2 coats of the Wurth product I mentioned above and like magic the creaky noises are gone! I couldn't be happier. Now the test will be to see how long it lasts.
