VX Wagon not talking to Tech 2

Thanks mate, That's a pretty helpful guide. Is that part of a larger document or a collection you have? Would you be willing to share the rest by any chance?

VX Wagon not talking to Tech 2

I was able to select my vehicle and then it failed. However, I went out the next day, tried to start the car and there was no error lights on the dash, and the Tech 2 worked. Now after clearing codes the only one I can't explain is ABS DTC74 "torque circuit failure". Does anyone know what this...

VX Wagon not talking to Tech 2

Hey guys. I have a VX wagon that I am currently having some faults with (TC, Airbag, Oil and SRS lights intermittently turning on). I have a clone Tech 2 that I have used in the past to troubleshoot issues however my car is now not communicating with it. The Tech 2 is receiving power, but...

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

New, from holmart_online from eBay. You have to break the retaining clips to remove them as well, so you need to buy those.

Got sick of the broken pockets so I ordered so new ones. Didn't realise until after the install they are a slightly lighter shade but that doesn't bother me. Yet.

Husky's Voodoo blue VEII SSV manual wagon

How time flies. Unfortunately the way life goes is that family came along and more boring sensible things well and truly took over fun car mods, so this one has stayed stock. All I have done recently is slotted rotors (First time they've needed to be changed since I bought the car) and replaced...

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

New wheel, now with centre caps. Also had the car lowered just a bit, which while I think it looks good, is bloody annoying for getting places.

Will 18 rims fit on a VESSII (Non-Brembo)

I think the answer is yes, but just seeking clarification before I buy some, so does anyone know if stock Holden VE 18inch Rims will fit on my VESS Series 2 with non-Brembo brakes?

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

So I really need to do some stuff to this car. Unfortunately 2 kids and a pandemic has really slowed progress. I've been keeping up on maintenance and the car is still very pleasant to drive, despite that fact it has now done 390,000km (More than the average distance from earth to the moon)...

    VE flip key replacement.

Does anyone know anyobe in vic that can provide a replacement flip key for a VE commodore? I still have the key but the flip part is broken. Local place quoted me $300 which is just absurd.

Well it has been a massive, massive year. Having a daughter and preparing for a huge exam I needed to pass after a year in my current job took a huge toll on me mentally and physically, but now that's out of the way (Although my daughter is becoming steadily more labour intensive), it's time to...

    Front drivers seat restoration cost

When I put leather seats in my VX, I sold the stock ones in excellent condition for $150. Keep looking and you'll find something cheap. As for replacing, what model do you drive? If you have airbags in your seats then you need to use seat with the same, otherwise the car will be illegal.

How to tell if clock spring needs replacing?

There are so many things that can cause an airbag light, But whenever you see someone post it of Facebook or the equivalent, you'll get 50 morons saying the same thing, Clock spring. Unless you want to waste money fixing many part until the light goes away, get it scanned. Even if it is the...

    Richie's VT Exec - VX SS Kitted - A tidy 6 banger

Congrats. My car will have been in the family for 16 years in august, and will have been mine for 10 years in December. It's nice to see someone else capable of slowly adding their personal touch to a car, versus just buying a new one all the times Completely unrelated, how on earth is this...

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

The paint on the front was starting to get really bad and was peeling in large pieces, so I decided it was time for same paint. I got the front end (bumper, bonnet, fenders) and the roof racks done while it was there. Much better.

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

I did this a little while ago but forgot to post it, i stripped the carpet out of the boot area and put down a heap of sound deadener to reduce the drone from the exhaust. It's still not perfect, but one day when i have more time and space I aim to strip the whole interior and do to floors and...

    Aussieakito's VY SS Manual

Interested in knowing more about the purple screen as my VX needs a new one. What company sells them and any idea what they cost for people without friends in the field? Any other photos?

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

Darkest legal in Victoria is 35% VLT (Visible light transmission). 18% is lower VLT, which means it is darker. In saying that though, I've never heard of anyone being picked up for slightly darker tint. Usually people get in trouble because it is excessively dark, or they were doing something...

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

Personally I'm not a huge fan of overly low cars, and I want this car to remain as practical as possible (for towing, heavy loads in the boot etc.). That being said, the suspension is getting tired all round so I would like to freshen it up a bit, so I'll probably drop it by 2-3cm at that stage.

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

Got the car tinted last week. ended up going 18% all round as the 35% I put on my ute was useless. Really happy with the look, especially as the old factory stuff was very faded and peeling.

Changed diff, speedo not reading correct

If it works leave it. The calculation I posted assumes you still have factory sized wheels and tyres. even things such as tyre wear can (slightly) effect the accuracy, so the only way to be truely accurate would be to reset it every time your rear tyres wear down a bit, which would be way more...

Changed diff, speedo not reading correct

All you do is take the current PPK, divide it by the old ratios (probably 3.08) and then multiply it by the new ratio. I did this whe I fitted 3.46 gear to my VX using my tech 2 and have had no issues. speedo is spot on.

The memcal MACE made me for my L67 conversion does the trick.

VT stalls on first startup each day.

I'm having the same problem with my L67. Plugs and leads are only 5,000km old. Fuel pump was replace at the same time and the injectors ere properly cleaned. I think the issue is the IAC, would it be worth changing that first?

Central Locking Not Opening Far Enough

I would pull the door car off and watch the mechanism go up and down when you unlock/lock it. might be something simple like a missing washer causing it to not push high enough.

    Standard ecotec v6 to s/c v6

It's a pretty straight forward conversion. Best bet is to get a donor car. You'll need the engine, transmission (Or use you trans but you need the L67 flex plate and stall), Transmission cooler (if not already fitted on your car) and the engine loom. You'll also need a Memcal (The mace one will...

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

I have looked at the bulges in the past. They are pretty much what I want, I just have to get over the ford thing (and find one that is steal, not fiberglass). The MACE mounts look good, but I have heard some negative feedback regarding noise and vibration, despite what the add says. The...

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

I'm not a fan of how they just jut straight out. I'd prefer something smoothed to the bonnet. Unfortunately the one thing I like about Ford is the bonnet bulge that looks much nicer that most scoops. Shame the rest of their cars are ugly.

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

I might be getting a small bit of money that I can allocate to car stuff in the next few weeks, and as the clear on my bonnet is starting to peel I thought I might treat the old girl to a front end respray. At the same time I'm thinking of adding some form of bonnet buldge or scoop for future...

Replacing VT drivers seat - airbag removal

I would just leave it there. wrap some electrical tape around the plug so static can't set it off.
  36. Husky

    Towing

It will really, really struggle. I towed 1000KG on a trailer once and while the car really struggled with taking off, braking was much worse. any more than that without electric brakes on the trailer would be suicide (And more than 750kg unbraked is illegal regardless of tow package).

Replacing heater core - Where abouts and how much?

$950 is probably actually a fair price from Holden, which is rare. Like others have stated it is a massive job. Not overly hard though, you could always have a crack yourself.

Vx L67 into vx ecotec Berlina

I didn't change a key head or BCM for my conversion. Just keep the factory computer (the one already in your car) and get an L67 Memcal from someone like MACE Engineering, swap the engine loom and you are good to go.
  39. Husky

    My VXII Berlina Wagon

Probably a combination of reasons. Although it's (Arguably) more fun to drive than the LS1 due to low down torque, the L67 does use much more fuel and has less power than the LS1. Add that to the fact that by the end of the VZ almost 90% of wagons were bought by fleet buyer who wouldn't want the...
