I’ve had both XYZ and Shockworks in my VF. They are night and day in Ride and build quality, and the XYZ’s actually weren’t that bad. So that tells you how good the Shockworks dampers are.

The VF2 dust shield doesn’t even have a lip that fully encases the rotor. It’s about 15mm short. You’ll be fine trimming it mate.

And what I’m saying, in the real world. Mine were trimmed and didn’t make a squeak in 5 years or move a mm. Relax. It’s a dust shield. Do you understand what’s involved in replacing them? It’s not a 5 minute job mate, far from it. Hence why no one does it. Hundreds of people have done this...

I drove for 5 years with the dust shields trimmed. No dramas. They’re not that flimsy. Only changed them now because new driveshafts came with stub axle assembly attached, VF2 shafts.

It’s just very thin steel, easily cut with grinder. I think the stub axle has to come off to fully remove them.
