Hey. I'm doing the same conversion. Decided to use a right angle drive that screws onto gearbox and new cable to suit vl dash. A bit over $200 from castlemain rod shop. Depending on diff ratio and tyre size, you might want to change speedo gears also.
Had a quick look there yesterday. Couldn't find t700 or 3.45 ratio in their charts. Mite try again soon. Unless someone out there knows exactly what i need? Don't think i would trust a speedo converter and replacing gears will be a whole lot cheaper.
