You can get the "service keys" from Holden, they are a special order through spare parts. They are something like $150. So it would be cheaper to go for the key safe idea.

Check that you're harmonic balancer isn't stuffed. It's really common for the outer part to slip and put the pulley out of line causing the belt to come off. Just run the engine, look at the balancer and see if it wobbles.

I agree, pretty sure its 3.45:1. However if you're still not sure, climb under the car, there will be a white sticker on the diff that says the ratio on it.

the tailgate open button and the number plate lights are both on the same loom so if there's a bad earth or water damage somewhere maybe at the connectors it could be a solution.

i think there was an issue with some of the torque converters on this model but im not certain, maybe ask holden? i have definately heard of the issue before but can't remember why.

Checked all the fuses? If you turn the ignition on but dont start it, can you hear a buzz/electric motor noise for a few seconds from the back of the car? if you can't ,could be a fuel pump issue. Check the relay for it clicks when you turn the ignition on.

as ConstantVelocity mentioned, that system is gonna be fairly loud because it doesnt have a rear muffler, also it will drone and annoy you as well as everyone else on the road, you are best off going standard or getting something better like maybe a defillipo system?

not really. A lot of people just use the standard head unit, convert the speaker outputs to RCA and then run them into Amps and aftermarket speakers. And run the centre dash speaker out into and RCA and then into the amp for subs.

Did you clear all the codes when you did the coolant temp sensor? the map sensor error could have been triggered by the backfire or rough running. Have you tried clearing the code and seeing if it re-occurs? and what the engine is doing when it occurs?
