yea I put on 4-1 pacemakers and made up some 3inch decat pipes really beefed up the sound on my vz

no its not ILLEGAL because hes in nz as he has stated.think car 2010 onwards need to retain them

not sure if anyone is interested but problem turned out to be a crook o2 sensor,started running really rough all the time and ended up throwing left bank o2 sensor code. put in some new bosch sensors and it seems to be running great,no more hot start issue either.

hey can i ask which hid kit you brought as im thinking of doing this,did u just do the low beam?

ok sounds about as anoying as my problem,im thinking about trying a new temp sensor im woundering if on hot start up its not reading correctly and running rich for a cold start when its hot? could be completly unrelated aswell tho.

one of my mates has this set up in his surf trans has been fine,been through a ton of front cv's tho

plugs are less than a year old,has new fuel filter,i havent done the leads tho but i cant really see how they would be the issue

hi guys for awhile now iv been having this problem/miss with my vz. if i start the car from cold and go for a decent drive taking it through a full heat cycle theres no issue at all,the car runs great. but if i do a short drive like head up to the shops etc,when i go to restart the car...

yea when i done mine on the vz i managed to crack a plug gave it a decent miss,will take plugs out if i do headers again.

bit different vz has a breather on the elbow part and dosent have a port for iat sensor as its built in to the maf,pipe on the vz looks more smoothed out also

no vf has had an ls2

I don't think he will have to because speed reading is taken from abs sensor on ve onwards so only wheel size change will put it out slightly

where did u get your sensor and loom from or has one been wired in from an earlier ls1?

engine number is on a silver plate under bonnet by passanger headlight. as far as thunder utes go I think some were l76 some were l98 but I could be wrong.

yes I think you are right they used ls6 blocks towards the end late vy and vz but are still classed as a ls1. probably because they still have ls1 heads etc.i have a vz 5.7 and its electronic throttle or fly by wire I think they call it same goes for ls2 vz hsv. late vz got l76 excluding hsv.

the early ls2's (vz hsv) were electronic throttle aswell as the vz 5.7 ls1

yep looks real good, nice and clean had a look at the gm loom will have to contact them regarding shipping as I'm in nz. cheers.

otr test fit need to sort iat and the breather pipe on drivers side.

have got myself a second hand otr for my vz when I get it mafless tuned what have you guys with vz's done regarding adding an external iat sensor? is it easiest to use the vcm loom+sensor or can I save some money going another way eg splice an iat sensor into my loom from like a vt2-vy...

I agree although I only have a 5.7 when I fitted 1 7/8 pacemakers it really improved the note at idle and full noise.

I have read the ls2 chain is a good upgrade.

svs message can be other problems to I had it in mine used a scan tool and turned out to be a faulty o2 sensor( Lean on bank 1)

I have 4-1 longtube mild steel pacemakers on my ls1,i noticed a similar noise not so bad at idle but can hear it when u put the boot up it at low revs. I think its to do with headers being thinner than cast manifold etc also collectors as you mentioned.

i was getting same svs message then engine would run rough as hell scanned and came back with "fuel lean bank 1" it then went away so swapped 02 sensors around and when it came back scanned "lean bank 2" so assumed 02 sensors replaced them and hasnt come back....touch wood.mine is also ls1

sounds awesome at full noise lol, how is your cam with the standard stall does it push on brake etc?

iv had no a/c issues I was worried how close the sit to rack boots but nothing has melted.....yet

im running 1 7/8 4-1 pacemakers on my vz ls1 they work fine cant say i have noticed any low down torque loss as some people say go for it i reakon.

probably a simple catback is what your after, being in nz I think rage,coby and xforce maybe do bolt on systems iv got a coby on my ss and the quality and fitment is good I have never heard one on a v6 tho.something with a centre and rear muffler combo so it doesn't drown.

brakes look great really like how you have tidied them up,they will make a big visual and performance upgrade.

pulling out cats will make it slightly louder I like the sound of mine but I also added pacemaker 4-1 headers mine has centre mufflers and rear combo I wouldn't want it louder.it has a small drone but not bad at all mine is auto.
