Axle Tramp - Is there an actual solution?

i'm not sure if the axles from the VF LSA's are the same due to the larger 9.9" diff, but the VF SS has different axles diameters which are much cheaper than gforce. a wrecker should have them for $3-400.

Want to add extra USB port....

contact any of the companies who do IQ conversions for series 1. they usually use a flush mount USB plug with the correct end to fit into the side of the IQ unit. you could easily run that above the kick panel under the steering wheel and mount it over that side. a bit like the bottom right cable.

iOS10 iPhone update - IQ phone Bluetooth issue

was the issue not resolved with iOS 10.3.3? both my VE's have IQ, both had the issue until i updated to 10.3.3... i now have iOS11 beta and it still works fine in both cars.

Retro fit folding back seat, Omega?

not going to happen, the sedans only have the port hole in the rear parcel shelf.

    Iq upgrade

Fair enough. Good price, I paid almost double that for E3 version with sat nav.

    Iq upgrade

Hah. I find the circle vents tacky, but again personal preference. One of mine has the Calais style IQ, the other HSV style.

what made you go for the SS style over the Calais?

Omega, Berlina, sv6? VE series II.

Omega has dual zone too. only differences between S2 Omega and Berlina are leather, rear arm rest, head unit (berlina can store cds), fog lights and 17" vs 16" wheels. my omega can be a little heavy on fuel around town (averages ~12L/100km in stop start traffic), but on the motorway it...

    20 x 10.5" wheels

Yeah it was borderline. But again depends on the tyre, my rears sat like that and a different tyre up front had less rim protection with a wider tyre compared to the rim width. Spot on. Hsv rears are in the vicinity of 20x9.5 +57. I've seen 305/30R19's on a 19x11 +54. Somewhere around the...

    20 x 10.5" wheels

These are probably the best photos I have. A 285/30 would have been better, but the edge of the tyre lip and rim were about even. It will depend on tyre brand too... I had 255's on a 10" rim and they appeared more stretched than 275' on an 11". Also added a pic of how low mine was for comparison.
  12. mitchy_

    20 x 10.5" wheels

at that height, i reckon you're going to rub with 295's. it will need the bumper bracket trimmed. mine was probably a bit lower, and with 275/35's on 20x11 +43, and it rubbed on the bumper bracket even after being trimmed.

Parking sensor always is off when I start the car?

they do operate when you want them to. when you want them to work, you press the button... how do the lexas/nissan sensors work? i cant imagine they can tell the difference between a garage and bumper to bumper traffic, so what activates them? unless they are always on, but have a very short...

    How to program seat memory

if it's like my senator, set the seat position then hold 'M', whilst holding 'M' press the desired number and release both. that will program that position to that number.

    VF Evoke diff details?

a second hand LSD and axles would likely be cheaper than an LSD to suit your housing. can pickup calais, etc. diffs which are similar ratio's for a couple of hundred, and then the same for axles.

The VE Commodore Wheel Fitment Guide**UNDER CONSTRUCTION**

I'd say they are about 20x10 +35. Common size for the Koya SF range. Tyres are likely 255/35R20 or maybe even 245/35 with that stretch.

    VE HVAC actuator replacement.

bumping an old thread.... but did you ever get this sorted, gdunkley? i replaced the passenger side actuator, and have the same issue. when plugged but not attached to the actuator it will spin both directions, but when properly attached it will only move the arm to hot setting and then stays...

    VE Timing Chain (Stretched)

my 2011 Omega is currently sitting at 247,000km on the original chains. they will need replacing at some point, but she is still plugging along right now. seems to be people who don't service their cars, and have little mechanical sympathy that have problems...

The VE Commodore Wheel Fitment Guide**UNDER CONSTRUCTION**

my front guards are rolled. it probably stuck out 1-2mm, 10 +35 would have been better. however anything under about 10 +35 will hit the stock strut. had the 10 +32 on both my VE's, one has stock struts, the other has modified stock struts. doubt you will even get a 275 on there, probably a...

    Diff Upgrade.

In what gear? In my manual Senator with 4.11's, 100km/h in sixth gear is about 1850rpm. 110km/h is a smidge over 2000rpm.

    IQ upgrade

big upgrade to a S1 with no colour screen! i just upgraded my E1 Senator to E3. sound quality is MUCH better, and being able to control my phone is great. was a little disappointing when my 2011 Omega sounded better than my 2008 Senator, IQ sorted that out though.

    Diff Upgrade.

true... i assumed we were talking about a VF, i didn't notice matt's car listed as a VZ. i can confirm the tag on my 08 Senator is still clear as day (well... except for being covered in diff oil from a newly formed inspection hole )
  25. mitchy_

    Diff Upgrade.

there is also a sticker under the diff stating it's ratio. obviously your way will be correct every time, but if it's a new car or you know the diff hasn't been touched, the sticker should be correct!

    WHEEL SHOPS IN BRISBANE

There is more than enough wheel options in Australia for commodores. Stylish wheels in lead to believe are reputable. Something from the Koya or Envizio range may be what you are after, they come in just about every diameter, width and offset you could possibly want.

Changing a headlight VESSV Series 2.

interestingly i can change all bulbs on my S2 Omega with no issues, however on my S1 Senator the drivers side i have to go through the inner guard. there must be fuse box differences between some of the models... i've not really bothered to compare bays though.

VF 2 -Redline - Big brakes and Staggered Simmons

The lenso's are probably the biggest dished wheels I've seen on a VE/VF.. most other rims have a touch less dish to allow a few more pubic hairs clearance. :D
  32. mitchy_

VF 2 -Redline - Big brakes and Staggered Simmons

correct. it's also why the FR22-1's have the same dish front and rear, even with a staggered 8.5"/9.5" setup; to allow fitment on factory AP racing/Brembo equipped vehicles. i haven't got any photos, but both my front and rears just clear the HSV brakes, which are roughly the same size as brembos.

    Guard rolling a vf

the guards would have needed to have been done, but keep in mind the wheels will likely be rubbing on the bumper bracket if it hasn't been trimmed.
  34. mitchy_

    VE Coil-overs in vf?

it's where the hub attaches to the lower section of the front coilovers that differs. the upright on the VF hub is wider, so it wont fit between the 2 tabs on a VE strut... and vice versa, VE hub upright is narrower than the VF so it's loosey goosey.

    MY15 SSV PHNTYM

i think it's the dish/spoke to rim interface that i do like. i went and had a look at the CVT's and CV7's that i've been drooling over, and they are the same as the CV5's... making me regret not buying Vossen's now. :(
  36. mitchy_

Will redline Rims clear Hsv Brakes

The same offset doesn't necessarily mean they clear big brakes, the spoke design does. Redline wheels should clear HSV AP's though, as they are similar sized calipers.

    MY15 SSV PHNTYM

tell me about it.. its so hard to find a nice classy wheel for these, most i found were tacky... even once i committed to a new set i was terrified they would look terrible!

    MY15 SSV PHNTYM

i think i prefer the old ones! that said, both look great... very classy looking wheel.
