    Commodore Respray

Looks like the tinted lights have already been installed. I'm liking the S-Pack skirts and the spoiler. Shane pleasantly surprised me today with the addition of the blacked out number plate panel. My daughter is very attractive (doesn't every dad say that?) and so is her mum who is a Pro card...

    Commodore Respray

Hi everyone After 9 years of use and a little abuse, MUMSVX is getting a closed door respray and going to my daughter who is on her L-Plates. Respray work is being done by Shane at Rosedale Panels in Victoria. He is replacing the VX Lumina stock front, rear, spoiler and skirts with S Pack ones...

what did you do to your car today?

Nothing to see here. :clap:It has been a week long saga; I've been cleaning the passenger side carpet of the spillage of the four coffees of my workmates. 3 coffees were milk-based. We all know the stink. Starting with CT18, water, Autoglym shampoo, water, dry, Autoglym shampoo, water, citrus...

what did you do to your car today?

Got the transmission serviced. Today I need to figure out why the windscreen washer isn't washing.

    MACE CAI or growler CAI??

Good point. Small power gains and obnoxious noise. I'll talk with my mates mechanic. My mate runs a VX Clubsport. :spot on: Sounds like just plug and playing with the parts won't be enough and additional tuning IS required. I was originally thinking of supercharging the ecofail. Weighing up...

    MACE CAI or growler CAI??

Hi Wraith. It is a stock 3.8 V6. I going with the theory of more air to the engine and a freely breathing exhaust = more power. Is my theory wrong? And at least mumsvx would get a growl! :driving:

Cars Impounded for: Drink Driving, Graffiti, Hoon Driving, Loud Music etc

I'm already on an interlock (irresponsible, admittedly) . Nobody can mess with my 2000W of well insulated musical joy, though. Otherwise, I'll handcuff them and force them to listen to Susan Boyle. And Derrick J. Forever. :spew:

    Driving in Melbourne - WTF?

I used to be a motorcycle courier in Melbs from the early 90's for 20 years. Before speed cameras and citystink. We were cowboys on Iron Steeds. I feel for you in your 4 wheel nightmare. And they're doing some works now on the Westgate that'll #### things up even more. Do you have a PT option...

    MACE CAI or growler CAI??

Hi all. I'm looking at installing a Mace CAI with a Rhino catback in my VX series II 3.8 ecotec. I want to install myself. Any opinions/hints? Or should I leave it to the pros? Thanks, Chris. Here's my little girl: Just Commodores Garage Still hasn't done 110K as I lost my licence courtesy of...

    can't open VX!!

I appreciate that this is an old thread, but it's a gold thread. My reptile brain couldn't figure out why the lock buttons weren't popping up on a manual unlock. Electric lock. Battery is removed and charging now. Thanks everyone, for your input. :lock:

Wow specs. Now I understand why big three/dual batteries/farad cap are relevant to you. I posted on your other thread but it hasn't come through yet. looking forward to pics.

    Boss 35 Fared capacitor

You're welcome. I think your VZ SV8 would have a capable enough default big three and alternator unless you're planning something insane for your system eg: 10000W sub amp; my stock VX alternator puts out 80 amps providing enough to juice the single Yellowtop and run my system with the engine...

    Boss 35 Fared capacitor

From How to upgrade the Big Three "...- The gauge of wire you need depends on the total current draw of your audio system, and/or the current generating capacity of your alternator. Never use smaller cable that you used to power your amps; never use smaller cable than what already exists in...

what did you do to your car today?

Installed a K&N filter. Fixed the VX centre console compartment with the ubiquitous $30 latch. Picked fluff and bits off the interior. Drove around like the car had more power. Sat down with beer and it is a good day.

    Boss 35 Fared capacitor

True that. Capacitors are OK for massive power draw but as you have placed dual Optima batteries in your system, in particular the Yellowtop, your install without the capacitor should be fine. It really depends on how much power your amps are drawing. The most important upgrade in regards to...

    Mumsvx's VX Series II Lumina

Hi kangavxss and thanks. The system is exactly what I wanted. Superb sound with little effort. I've the amp gains currently set to 1/4. I think the HU was about $1450 at the time (2 months ago) and it was a very tight fit. I had the boys @ Autobarn install it for me as I tend to break things...

    Mumsvx's VX Series II Lumina

Hello and greetings all, This is my 2002 VX Series II Lumina. The engine has done 107059 Kms and the car is 100% stock and runs like new. The first thing I did after attaining the car was to have installed a towbar, new seat covers and a decent AV system. The towbar is a Hayman Reece 1600...
