With 2100kg towbar, it is only 2100kg if you use a weight distribution hitch or load leveling suspension. From memory there's a statement along those lines in VE owners manual. I have a VE SS auto which is 2100 kg with WDH. I still have my VX R8 chubby, but it's a manual, so only 1600kg towing...

Maybe just get someone to look under the car while you attempt to drive it - if the drive shift isn't spinning it's transmission problem. If it is spinning then diff problem

Just adding if timing chain done 30,000 km ago. Then timing chain normally were a problem after at least 100,000 km so even it's a recurring issue at typical km, I except you should have at least 70,000 km without the timing chain being a problem. As Gossie said, oil change twice a year is best...

Just adding re the comments about 5 speed - if it's a SIDI engine it will be 6 speed. In this case it's 2010 so will be SIDI and will be 6 speed.

I got RE003's not long ago on the 4 for 3 deal. I've hardly done any kms since having them fitted. On a VE SS they are noisy, probably less noticeable in a VF. I can't really say what they're like in the wet as I don't use the SS daily.

If you look on ebay, they list utes seperately to sedans, and wagons are a seperately listed as well. My guess is not the same.

Agree, my father in law had a similar problem, I think he bought a single filament globe (21W) globe that bridged the 2 pins in socket. Possibly in daytime you might even see the parking lights come on when the brake lights are on.

Might be worth checking trailer socket wiring on the car first. Assuming reversing lights are wired to the trailer plug, pins 2 and 3 are reverse and earth respectively. Being adjacent pins it would be worth opening up the plug (on the car) first and check there's no wire strands shorting...

Wiring loom on those sensors seems to be common problem, I'm guessing the problem isn't the wheel sensors themselves, it's the wiring. I think it's common with rear loom at the sensors.

I'm pretty sure that the 4000XS is the same type I have on my VX R8 Clubby now (330mm in the case of the VX R8) . They look like a very nicely made rotor. I don't drive the car all that much and no hard braking, so can't say how they go in those conditions.

At least you do get a temp gauge. I had a 2012 Fiesta until 2 years ago, no temp gauge (it had outside temp but not engine temp). Wifes 2008 Forester also doesn't have engine temp gauge, but like the Fiesta does show outside temp.
