just for future reference. to test if steam coming from an exhaust is coolant, cup your hands over the exhaust, then give ya hands a quick lick. if the taste is kind of sour or sweet then it will be coolant. A small amount like that wont kill you or poison you. Thats just how i do it anyway...

yep this is pretty much correct. Try cleaning or replacing your injectors also. Look at your fuel filter. sometimes they are so clogged the engine barley gets enough fuel. Do you have fresh fuel in the tank. anything older than a few months is not ideal. also check your idle speed is not low...

Check the fuel injectors and other systems related to the injectors. The easiest way to check is to take it to a mechanic and get them to put it on a diagnostic machine. They will take care of it in no time.

Did the correct thermostat get installed? They have different temperature ratings. Also when the thermostat was installed there could be an airlock in the cooling system. Try the radiator cap. Is the radiator fan coming on as normal?

this might sound weird. but if its coolant, it will taste a bit sour and sweet. dip your finger in the liquid (dont worry you wont die). if its sour/sweet it will be coolant. or its just water. that is the easiest way to find out.
