The tremec is a notchy box most strong manuals are. The thud is likely the centre bearing assembly which is designed to move and protect the tailshaft. Sounds like your just smashing the stick a little to enthusiastically in a tight new box.. Happens to the best of us I suppose

It is unlikely to give it a deeper tone as the intermediate pipes affect tone more than the headers will. It will definately be louder and sound better though. Assuming you’re getting the tune done or touched up it will go better as well.

Yeah its not excessive push I drove my ss for about six momth with the cam and standard TC but in traffic what you describe drives me nuts especially in a motor with a bit of a stick in it. Even a small stall ugrade would make it more comfortable in traffic. If you dont have this problem I evny you.
