The guy said it was a P1258 (engine coolant overheating) so by the sounds of it he is just assuming its the thermostat. Having said that, a handful of other people i have spoken to agree its the thermostat. Thanks for your help guys, cheers.

Interesting you say that. Ill have to ring him and ask what it actually said. All the invoice said was coolant checked level and concentration. No mention of coolant on the materials list.

Yes i did. For what its worth i did it first thing this morning when the engine was cold and got it there before it had a chance to overheat.
