try checking where the cables go into the fuse near the battery one of mine fried there and had similar problem. Check cables at firewall maybe rubbed through and earthing out??

old post but sounds like the rubber in the tailshaft holder is worn. It could be a pinion bearing as said before when letting clutch out its taking up the slack which could also be a universal joint. just my 2c can you ellaborate as to whether this problem was over come??

mine makes the whine throught the gears when punching it hard even with exhaust done still noticeable. i reckon it sounds good. P.s just had box rebuilt and still does it. might sound way of track but i reckon its the synchro rings doing it as i get that noise in 1st 2nd and 3rd (noticebaly)...

well i dont get the first reply all ive done from stock is throw a set of 18's on my vx and it scrapes the tyres on inner wheel arch plastics, No weight in it 1/4 a tank of fuel and still does it. Even when i had the stock 16" alloys on it used to scrapes on certain bumps. So just mouthing...

IMHO i reckon its your pinion bearing to be honest had the same thing with my patrol.

i have the same thing with the x in my left window. Only thing is i dont have climate control i installed into an 'S' pack..

Clearly you havent done it!!! Its a heck of a lot to do with driver.. Other thing is i think manuals are lighter to being as the auto ways a fair bit and i can pick a getrag 5spd up with one and and walk around with it???

Im guessings its a manual by your first post saying gearstick. I accidently found the easy way when going hard sideways using gearstick as support (so i didnt fall out the window :rofl2:) the knob and boot just flew of thats when i learnt there just push on.

i took mine of yesterday and have done it six or seven times in my car (playing around with clusters and stereo) and removed many many more working at the wreckers and the best way is you take the gear stick boot out and you can push the window switches up with your fingers with ease no chance...

In short no its not an LSD its just a High Performance its better then an original but still no LSD sorry. you said in the start it had High Performance tag...

lukey 21/2 inch cat back stainless is what i have and when i didnt have extractors had a nice note at around 1900 - 2200rpm and after that just a slight bit of a note nothing loud

once you get the gearstick boot out you will see what i mean with the window switches.

so the gearstick boot you cant get out either. Well the easy way is push the know back on grab it tight and yank up the boot is only held in by a plastic circle thing with push out clips (You will understand once you get it off) Other way is working from the front of the gearstick boot...

thought it was pretty self explanetary to be honest but yeah why not. ls reffers to spinning woth wheels lsd like! And when there isnt much load or prussure it will tend to spin woth wheel for maximum traction ^^^^You understand what i mean now.

or if you can have a look under the switches from the gearstick side and you can see the plug just push button in and wiggle it out and its out no problems

You put your hand under the switches and push them through the housing then unplug them.

1st Q did you disconnect the battery when you played with the air bag system? 2nd Not sure if there is pretensioners in the rear will have to rip one out at work. P.s when i have done so i will do a write up to show how to. My suggestion is take it to good auto

high performance means that it will tend to run ls most of the time with light load on it but in hindsight its just a single strengthed for v8's

For people that come across this post in the future! Just to let you know the black bit can be taken off and you should be able to take out the broken bit worked as a wrecker. you can also take the barrel out and use graphite powder to lube it up.

The dual mass flywheel can be replaced by a solid flywheel and clutch kit to suit for less than what it will cost you for a new dual mass flywheel looking at $900-$1000 (p.s this is when i done mine 1.5yrs ago not quite sure of price now though) They had the fly wheel and clutch kit on ebay...

thats not always true mine pulls to the left always and ive had new tyres suspension checked 3 wheel alightments and balances and it still pull any explination on the and neither tyre or suspension place know what it is or can rectify it. Sorry i cant help you with your problem 'MikesVT' but...
