They're the connectors on the VN engine harness. If you plug the VN engine harness onto everything on the motor, the grey and black plug are on the driver side where the battery normally is in the VN. The white plug is near the ECU. There's also the ALDL connector near the ECU, that doesn't get...

Even though its only been on the road for like 2 months in the last 5 years, the paintjob was only a backyard job so up close she has a few chips, marks and other minor imperfections. Did they check the engine number to clarify its a carby bottom end? You running a cat? So they didnt mind that you used a block which is older then the car? Alot of people say ya cant use a motor thats older then the car. One of my vk's is legally rego'd with a red 253 lol.

Yeah my VN-VP-VQ blocks have 5.0 stamped on them, just the couple of VR-VS blocks (maybe only VR) have had nothing. Will take some pics and throw up here.

I got a block (maybe 2) which are VR EFI motors which have the square on the side of the block with no digits in it. If ya motor has no engine number or a re-issued one. Check the cast date. It doesn't give the exact year, but that can be determined by the extra 4 head bolts. EFI blocks didn't...

Nah it's not real complex. Just a stock oiling system with the addition of the accumulator as backup on the pad when we whip it. I was just gonna run a sandwich plate between the filter and pump and plumb the accumulator into that. But got this gear pretty cheap so now going this way.

Yeah mate a few weeks ago. Bit disappointed with the outcome, but I built the motor so I can only blame myself....the motor is only as good as the gear I put in it...but thought it would of pulled more.

Thread title says he wants to go gear drive. If that's the case, ya gotta do a few minor mods to ur timing cover. Ya use a dremel (or grinder) and there's a few bits ya gotta grind down to make room for the gears. Ya also gotta change the oil squirter which is sometimes included in the kit...

Thought about putting EFI on it? Just use the original carby bottom end, and put the EFI gear on top of it. Still legal as ur keeping the original bottom end, and better fuel economy and more reliable.
