    Removing manifold to install insulators

The coil seals in the rocker are pricks to get out aren't they, just crumble when I get at them with the pick tool

    Removing manifold to install insulators

I got the Haynes bible there but doesn’t say anything about patterns, I’ll download that on the pc shortly. Might go invest in a little pick tool on my adventures today. Cheers for that mate

    Removing manifold to install insulators

Cheers Fu! Will be getting back to it since I’m back home from working away. Is there a sequence for the rockers as well? Also, I’m having trouble taking the coil seals out of the rockers, is there an easy solution to removing these?

    Removing manifold to install insulators

Is there a sequence to tightening the rocker cover bolts? And at what nm? Or is it a case of do it up to just over hand tight? Cause they were easy to undo

Can you remove the fuel line without the tool or should II just wait to get one tomorrow?

    Removing manifold to install insulators

yea sweet, cheers for that. Was worried I would spill some down into the motor if I tried. Drilled out the PCV a while ago as per your thread on it. You can definitely hear the system sucking haha

    Removing manifold to install insulators

Got all that good gear from Revhigh a little back. Just seen some that put the goop where they have it in the pictures, but some that don't do it. Just wanna see others opinions so don't risk it leakiing

    Removing manifold to install insulators

As for when putting in the new gaskets for the rockers, after cleaning up the contact areas, am I to put some of the blue gasket maker in the corners where they have applied it in the factory? (pictures should show the old stuff)

    Removing manifold to install insulators

Got the driiverrs siide Rocker cover off, everything is looking nice and clean enough, please tell me otherwise if I am seeing things. Gotta grab a fuel line tool to get the inlet off to get to the other cover with ease. And didn't have to do much with the gas gear, only disconnected the lines...

    Removing manifold to install insulators

Cheers, I have done the PCV and catch can upgrade a while back. everything is still looking good there. didn't think of getting a second gasket instead of using the maker, will get one today and do that. I know I will have to get under the plenum again eventually. You have any idea about my...

    Removing manifold to install insulators

Hopefully, my guess is I can tie them off since they sit after the injectors meaning nothing should be running through it.

    Removing manifold to install insulators

Next thing is, I have to remove a snapped bolt from the block which I over torqued some time ago. Turns out it snapped a bit further down than I would have liked, so I have to remove the inlet manifold and rockers to get to it with the easy out. Sadly it has an aftermarket LPG vapour system in...

Awesome cheers mate, yea it’ll have a couple of day to dry while I do some things. I will post up my next problem after I get comfortable later on haha

    Removing manifold to install insulators

Pretty sure I know the answer, just wanted a second opinion. Would I need to drain the oil if I am removing the manifold to install insulators? Cheers

    P0521 - Where to start

Cheer mate, yea I will give it as clean on the weekend. I have started to notice the car is running like a pig at the moment, so hopefully that does the job. If not, I will purchase a new one and replace it. Would I just clean it with say degreaser or something better?

    P0521 - Where to start

I only replaced it about 1k ago, if that. I checked and still looking nice and clean. Might just drop and replace it again with the HPR I have sitting there and hope that does it

    P0521 - Where to start

08' VE Omega - LE0 Last week this code decided to hang and hasn't left yet. Could someone point me in the direction of where to start with this, ie, remove and clean the sensor and the port or just buy a replacement? Or is there other steps I can try before spending money? Oil level is...

just filter every 2k I think he was meaning. Oil & filter every 6k. Good intervals really if you do a lot of stop start driving. I do similar, every 6-8k and have only heard it runner smoother overtime.

I have a similar problem with oil over the bottom front of the motor, possibly/hopefully just a rocker gasket needing replacing, they are pretty cheap. I got mine off Revhigh, still to replace it thought. And that knock at the front would be the strut top I would assume, yet to get mine replaced...

    VF v8 LPG ?

Yea, sounds odd I know. It's not that I don't like it, I just want all the extra looms and gear out from under the bonnet and the big ass tank out of the boot. Also around where I live and work, there is only 1 servo that is somewhat convenient with LPG but is always out of order. I check once...
  34. Just Damo

    VF v8 LPG ?

I sure did. Rest assured, give it a few months and some TLC, I will have my Kingswood with a red 202 up and running and have some sensible cruising fun.
  35. Just Damo

    VF v8 LPG ?

I have an aftermarket Kings system, Vapour injection that the PO must have got installed and the times (I think twice in the past year) that I have topped up and used it, I have found no difference in power whatsoever. The AC bogs the car more than LPG does.

SV6 sluggish acceleration and intermittent clunking

haven't experienced that yet, touch wood. I haven't asked around Brisbane for pricing on doing the job, but I know Heavy duty motorsports Oxley would probably tackle the job. Just buy your own genuine chains first from maybe revhigh or someone of that reputation
  37. Just Damo

SV6 sluggish acceleration and intermittent clunking

That's quite the build up there haha The way it's sitting is normal though, mines the same, think it has something to do with idle otherwise no air would get through. Could be wrong though

what did you do to your car today?

As I speak. I am doing an oil and filter change, trying this fusion stuff out with a little top up with edge. Will only be in the car for a couple of thousand, if that. Was going to wait until I pulled the motor apart, but the moped still isn’t on the road and it’s hit just over 7500k since the...

VE Manual LLT v6 crap fuel economy

Yea I did that haha the old stuff was peeling off so thought I would give it a go, was looking for western bulldogs fabric at spotlight but this was the next best thing hahaha just trying some colour in there, I will originally change it over for some burgundy suede at some point

VE Manual LLT v6 crap fuel economy

I did a PPSR check when I purchased it and things checked out. I just didn't know if that went off what it says in the car or what, so must be genuine. the most I got told by the dealership was that it was bought in by an older couple that use to travel, but he didn't say whether it was just...
