Are the VE Omegas quick or slow?

More garbage! I simply provided a comparison between two base vehicles with most of the variables removed, ie suspension, tyres and brakes. This just showed that one car was quicker than the other in this format. Did not attempt to rubbish anyone along the way. This is the last you will hear...

Are the VE Omegas quick or slow?

You guys! Hey, did you actually read the post, I am a commodore owner and driver and no lover of the blue oval. This involved a group of cars all with *identical tyres at 35 psi, *factory FE2 suspension, *slotted rotors, *identical compound brake pads. These vehicles are as supplied to...

Are the VE Omegas quick or slow?

Just a fool. "I havent seen anyone that knows what they're talking about claim the BF outhandles the VE, its all the opposite way. Perhaps you are just a fool for the bucket seats and smaller steering wheel mate." As clearly stated, the vehicles which were driven are police pack vehicles as...

Are the VE Omegas quick or slow?

Sorry to disappoint. As a commodore owner and lover of Holdens, I must say I was recently very disappointed by the VE commodores. As part of my job a group of us recently spent time at a training facility track in the south of NSW. The two vehicles used were BF Falcon and VE Commodore (both...

    Excessive brake dust

Totally agree The harder the pads (more metal content) the longer they last and less dust. The downside is of course that the harder the pads the more wear on the rotors. Softer pads= better, quieter braking + more dust + less rotor wear. Hope this all makes sense, cheers Max.

    ThrottleBody

Go for it!! One may assume that 3mm is nothing, but if you consider that this is a measurement in diameter, then the increase in volume is considerable. Surface of a circle ie: area of the pipe/throttle body can be seen as this: 65mm= 331.83mm.(approx) 68mm= 363.16mm.(approx) This is using...

    TRanny oil

Smile This is how Holden does it. I really don't know about others, but this is cut and paste from Holden. This is a tranny service on car. It's what I've done to mine ( bar a couple of tips from a mate who works for holden) three times in 150,000 klms. My tranny shifts like new. Good luck...

    VX V6 exhaust

Zorst Go the pacemakers, forget the Hi-flow cats. Any good Zorst man will put a 2.5" straight off the existing cat which is more than sufficient if the pipe off the rear of the cat is cut off and the 2.5" welded off the cat. The problem with red backs is that they bolt straight onto a...

    VT Cargo Barrier Installation Query

cargo barriers. In my VT I had no anchor points. I bought the kit from Holden and installed myself after talking to the fitter at the dealership. There are two spots in the lining as there are two positions for the cargo barriers. One is for when the rear seats are folded down and the barrier...

    Cheap tyres

Tyres? :bang: I found in Sydney, a dealer who buys all the police cars at auction. They then pull off the chasers and put on alloys to sell on the lot. Look for a similar dealer in Adelaide. Last set I bought, were 225/60 R15 on chaser 15x7". $320 for 4 and they were all but new. I even got to...

They are 2nd hand. :yarr: Yes they are 2nd hand, but they are cleaned up so well that they look like new. Bead blasted by the look of them. He has manufactured a brand new butterfly for the larger space and the fit is A1. Cheers Max.

    Ecotech / Throttle body

Yeah I got 1! Try a guy with E-bay ID, nero 2340 he's from SA and they are generally around the $200 mark without exchange. His machine work is A1 and it is a 69mm job on the Ecotec. My VT definitely got a boost from it especially in the mid range, but fuel economy also deteriorated slightly...

Help me Dr Bob Hi there, I bought one of those blackstar chips on e-bay, based on feedback percentages. I have now discovered you on this forum. I do not think that his chip has done much! Now I see that your price on E-Bay has increased by $60. I have a standard and a blackstar chip. Would...

    Link pin kits?

Looking good! Well, I bit the bullet and bought one of the new Super pro kits. Put it on today and it looks the goods. These are heaps heavier than the standard pins and have a bend in them. This makes them line up much better than the standards. Anyway I'll see how they go in comparism. Cheers...

    Link pin kits?

What's the GO with these things. Just put another set of nolathane rubbers in. If you put the cup washers in as per Holden parts, they cut the sh#&% out of the rubbers. Apparently the Holden mechs put the cup washers upside down. Has anyone got any answers in regard to this annoying little...

    Hiclone

Hiclone. Yes or no? Yeah, I got one. No difference in fuel economy at all. Has a bit more mid range grunt. I have taken it out and put it back in heaps and the difference is noticeable. Just give em more air, Ecotecs love it. Don't waste your cash on a hiclone, $160 err. Cheers Max.:hit: :b:

Rough costing to fix leaking rear main seal

Rear Main Blues :b: Well, from a mate who is a Holden Spares Manager, don't ever just replace the seal, it will still leak. The problem lies in the backing plate which warps. This means that you replace the seal and guess what? The f%#$^&ing thing still leaks. Any how I bought the whole shebang...
