It's human nature to procreate, the survival of the species depends upon it. So yes, most of your answers stem from the question "but what about poor old me?" If you don't like society then leave and go somewhere you don't have to contribute. If you don't like how the system works, run for...

    Series 1 alternator

Alternators are referred to as 12 volt because most cars use a 12 volt system but they will put out 14.4 volts nominally. There will definitely be a replacement alternator to suit your car.

You know the world doesn't revolve around you right? Healthy happy families is good for society, a few generations ago dad would work and mum would be at home with the kids, in today's world both parents need to work to stay ahead so that means society wears some of those costs of mums been in...

Ohh dear. I like parental leave, it's a good thing and so is child care subsidies. But because you are a lonely middle aged single guy you will not understand these things. When our female operator had a child she worked almost right up to the day she delivered, she wanted to come back to...

We had a female operator at work, nothing wrong with her, also had a female apprentice, she made some of my longer term qualified operators look bad. You can't make assumptions about all woman because you've had a bad experience with one.

Yes but they are the same sensor type so if the getrag VSS is wired to the auto loom the signal will work. It was the T5 that had the 3 wire sensor that is different to 4L60e/getrag hall effect sensor.

No, that is a different issue. Poor cast maintenance leaving large casting flashes in the push rod holes is the issue with the VY motors.
  36. Immortality

    Limiter issue

Was it originally a auto, earlier you said you fitted the Getrag? A VR auto that is converted to manual is going to throw a engine check light when it can't see the auto and set a whole heap of fault codes unless the tune is altered to suit. Either way, something isn't adding up. Take the...

Really confused by the vastly different prices of used cylinder heads...

The casting is very thin in that area and will crack right through to the coolant. so yeah, potentially a big issue. I'm told later model heads have a revised casting that is slightly better but that area is very thin.

I guess the depends on the training centre/industry and what stuff they will accept from other courses. In that regard the NCEA system NZ now has is pretty good, it allows you to cross-credit skills from one course to another and not have to re-do the work.

Really confused by the vastly different prices of used cylinder heads...

The casting between the valve seats is common I'm told. Mine had some minor cracks in the seats but my head guy wasn't worried about those.
